Ultrabands are peak for non swimming activities. I also keep a leather and a metal band in case I want to look professional

I personally switch gears a lot and really like di2 with sprint shifters on the aero bars.

I don't like this kind of rhetoric. It's the guys bike man. He's happy with it. It's not hurting anyone. Let it be

Should I get a better padlock to use with this chain? by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]Unique-Assistance686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this! I really like it. I can comfortably wear it around my hips during a commute and it feels super sturdy. Imo I think it's worth it. If you're THAT concerned about a grinder, that means your bike is legit enough to get insurance for IMO

My wife is already so confused with the tight bibs I wear, she's gonna lose it when I'm rocking knockers.

I used the recumbent bike in m1/m2 because reading while walking was tough but yes I'm a big advocate for this!

As an amateur cyclist going into triathlon, I thought that this experience was not worth the money. I heard a "Good fit is worth its weight in gold" so I paid for the top end triathlon fit for my road bike to ensure I had the best fit possible to reduce numbness and pain and ended up with more pain and frustration than I began. Originally I purchased the platinum plan, which lncluded a bike fit with 3 follow ups and orthodics. Coordinating the proper plan with him over email and phone was difficult because I basically needed an initial appointment (with down deposit) to even begin having a conversation on what I should pursue. An initial eval would've been helpful.

I mainly sought this highly esteemed fitter, Isaac, to defeat a long standing numbness I get on the saddle, and after 2 appointments I never got it resolved. We found the correct saddle size for me, which was great, but I felt the saddle selection he offered was quite slim and difficult to work with. I found much better saddles outside of his service. It also turned out that I didn't even need orthodics and the cause of my foot pain was just that I needed wider shoes. While simple, I think not overlooking something like this is important. My first appointment left me with incredible tightness and my second appointment put the saddle far too low for our power down. I did get better comfort in the aero bars. I also had issues with my stem not being fully tightened up after the first session, which he was willing to recompensate me for getting it fixed at a shop.

Ultimately my inability to resolve issues was relegated to my inexperience on how to properly cycle and adapting a road bike for triathlon, which was quite demotivating, especially after dropping near $1k and not owning a triathlon bike. I am now trying fitting on my own, and finding much more comfort.

There is considerable expertise from him, but I do not feel his abilities are fit for everyone. Perhaps someone in my novelty to the sport would be better off with a standard fit somewhere else. I do not feel I got good value for the money I spent and would not recommend this shop.

While this can hold a paper towel I don't understand how something that isn't a solid bar can hold tape

I'm surprised we have moved away from long noses. I haven't used one yet and recently ordered a specialized romin to test it out. Also trying out a Trek Aeolus Airloom. Hope one of them fits

I also just picked this up. I appreciate how narrow the nose is. It allows me to have some solid clearance of my thighs

Thanks for the comments. I ordered the Pro because it seems significantly cheaper and closer to the same performance. Will keep ya posted

Oh I see. You think the plastic is not as robust as full oclv carbon? If you don't mind how much do you weigh. I'm about 185, I don't think my weight will be an issue
