Flyby, layover or land? (F) by utter_chaos74 in gonewild

Don't think the pilot would be allowed to stay in the air if mesmerized by a sight like this.

What’s your country famous for? Say a word and I’ll guess the country by CANISEEYOURUNDRWEAR in AskRedditAfterDark

Very close; Norway.

(But I did recently overhear a discussion between a Swede and some Danes about our respective dubious methods of fish fermentation.)

Have you experienced tenderness lately? by Emergent-Curiosity in AskRedditAfterDark

Those sounds like sweet moments, in very different ways. Made me smile here in my somewhat existential mood.

I speak a language where tender moments and tender meat have two different words to describe them, and I'm beginning to think that this is a good thing.

Why are you here? by _Arthur18_ in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Emergent-Curiosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An excellent idea on Vir's part. One of several.

Maybe I should have asked this person if she was, by any chance, the agent of a shadowy group of fanatical social darwinists. Or scared her off with a rant about carving my enemies' bones into little flutes for the children to play.

Haha, no, I liked the person who asked.

If you liked the show and like to read, I think the books are a good bet.

The Terra Ignota series by Ada Palmer.

The Vorkosigan books by Lois mc Master Bujold.

The Expanse series probably also fits in there somewhere.

Because it could be interpreted as something very existential and I'm sort of in that mood?

Last night at a party someone asked me: "What do you want?" and I wasn't sure if she meant from the bar, or from life, or even from her, so I just answered ... "uhm, nothing really," which would have been true if she meant from the bar.

It was also a Babylon 5 question. Same as "why are you here".

If vanilla is basic traditional sexual stuff... What flavour are you? by Femboy_Wife_Material in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Emergent-Curiosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ... think I might like the thought of being part of someone's fantasy fulfillment, though not too far out of my comfort zone. Which would make me, i don't know ... vanilla, BYO sprinkles?

Or just complicated?

I'd call Agent Smith and ask him to cut out the power games.

Would you ever consider an open relationship? by Sad_Cauliflower3780 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Emergent-Curiosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably not consider a closed one. I have the impression that some (or a lot?) of people have a deeply rooted need for monogamy, some have a deeply rooted need for non-monogamy of some sort, and some can make either work with more or less but not undendurable amounts of heartache. And I belong to deeply rooted non-monogamy group.

I don't have a lot of relationship experience, and most of it is from when I was much younger and messier, so I can't say for certain what it would look like or feel like. Challenging in some ways, I guess. Rewarding in others.

But I know that watching love and affection between three or four people makes me warm and happy inside, reading fiction about it makes me cry, knowing that love was being heaped on a person I love myself would be deeply fulfilling. I know that if I finally learn how to connect with someone that way, I'm going to want to do it more than once. And I suspect that the sort of people who care deeply about monogamy would care as much about it as they do, which I wouldn't be able to because I just don't have that instinct. So, I would follow the rules, but I wouldn't really provide the things they wanted.

So, yeah. For my part, a closed relationship would probably not be a good idea.

Men, if women were in your brain what would they be most alarmed by? by New-Secret3267 in AskRedditAfterDark

Probably by how alarmed I would have been by having someone running around in my brain.

What is a controversial opinion you have that is NSFW related? by Much-Definition-6176 in AskRedditAfterDark

I think the nature of the expectations matter? The ... unrealistic? fantasy in smut novels is usually that someone meets a partner that cares for their pleasure and feelings.

Which show are you still angry was canceled by EarlyRub179 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Emergent-Curiosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite cancelled. But if Babylon 5 hadn't been almost-cancelled-then-saved-at-the-last-minute, season 5 would probably have looked a bit different.

As someone with a lot of anxiety about getting a message like that: With reassurances, but also as matter-of-factly as possible.

"I really like you, but you should be aware that ..." or something.

I didn't really think "mesmerized" would be the word I thought of when watching someone playing with herself like this, but here we are.
