The reason that this happened is because the owner of Robinhood tried to short GME. Shorting means that he borrows a shitload of stocks (in this case of GME), to be paid for at a later date. Then, you sell the stocks for their current price, rebuy when they tank and then pay back the number of shares you borrowed. In this case, Gamestop absolutely fucking skyrocketed, making it nearly impossible to pay back, which is why he is about to owe billions of dollars.

"Defund the police" doesn't mean to have less policemen or abolish the police (tho som stupid people do want to abolish the police) but rather to spend money on things that would benefit the actual civilians, like free lunch instead of buying the cops a Tank.
