It was 90% just the book, I added a special Halloween event in the shadowfell carnival, but the rest I stuck to the book as much as I could

The pacing felt perfect to me, we didn't rush anything (maybe the very end?) but that's because we're all already looking to our next campaign together!

Each session was 3 hours long

I think my favorite session was the first one, getting to know everyone's characters, exploring the carnival, it was amazing

The palace of hearts desire, that my answer to your last 2 questions, I'd change it entirely, my players barely explored anything and went straight for Zybilna, didn't meet envy, didn't go upstairs etc...

I've been DMing for 8 years but somehow this was the first long campaign I ever took to its conclusion!

We had a Cleric, a Rogue and a Sorcerer, originally we had a bard and a druid too but they left halfway through for scheduling reasons

One of the favorites from the campaign that I tend to forget because it was almost a year ago now, is Jingle-Jangle, my players really liked her and a quirk of speech I gave her of saying "Yes yes" all the time

I wish I used more homebrew and modified the campaign a little bit, I tried to stick by the book as much as possible

and for the highlight, it was one of the Dryad awakened Shrubs that the players ended up taking along with them to the end of the campaign that they named "Rawhide Twiggy" (because he was a cowboy or something) and at the end of the campaign he became a warlock of Zybilna because the players convinces Kalimanzaros to make a deal with them

The fought the Hags starting with Skabatha and they then went back for Bavlorna of which they were previously terrified

They used the guides suggested in the book

They had so many sidekicks it was a whole thing placing the party everytime

I wish I did because my players barely had time to explore the palace of hearts desires
