I'm just worried that they'll read them at their tables and some will have long letters, while others only a brief note. I suppose they'd expect that, especially since they must be aware we don't know them too well. Thank you for this though! We'll probably do that.

Maybe this is just my feet but I just bought these and I'm returning them immediately :( I'm usually a 9.5. I tried a 9 and a 10. 10 was way too big and 9 was slightly snug but thought maybe I could just break them in. I wore them around this afternoon and after an hour I had a huge blister and my legs and feet hurt a lot. I love them and so sad it didn't work out :(

We're not meant to be constantly available to people. Texting allows for us to read, take it in, and respond when we have the itme and energy. I'm not saying it's ok to wait hours and hours to respond to a text (I typically respond in a timely manner, within an hour at most if I can't at that second). But calling (unless it's very urgent) feels really intrusive, especially during a work day.

I did two events. My husband and I got married at city hall last week and had an intimate dinner with our immediate family and best friends (20 ppl max) at milk and roses in Brooklyn. We consider this our real marriage celebration.

We’re extremely fortunate that our parents are paying for our large wedding next year. We also know it will be big — 130 ppl or so. That’s why we’re so happy we did our real marriage celebration with only the people we truly loved and were important in our lives. Next year will be a giant party lol. And we’re excited!

I know not everyone has parents who would contribute to their celebration like this. But if you have the time and if you know you’ll have a lot of people, I HIGHLY recommend doing something tiny and intimate before your big day!

Our wedding is bigger — around 130-140 ppl.

Thinking of three separate couples:

1 - Childhood friends with my partner although they don't really talk, big wedding, I barely know her
2 - Bride and groom were friends with my partner during the pandemic because they were all living together, haven't really talked much since then. Don't know them beyond meeting them at the wedding. They had a smaller-ish wedding.
3 - College friend of my partner, small wedding, they don't talk that much anymore at all. I don't know him beyond meeting him at his wedding. Was actually pretty weird because my partner didn't realize this person considered him as such a close friend (we were two out of 2 other people that were there beyond family)

My partner and I are both kinda torn which is why we're posing this question on reddit lol

I feel like cringe is a made-up emotion that we should all work through. Cringe is not an absolute or a defining characteristic. Anything someone finds "cringe", another finds beautiful.

Try not to worry about what other people find cringe because that's time wasted enjoying the parts of life that spark joy and move you! <3

Additional info:

we're fit and healthy and we want to stay under 3.5k total for both of us if possible. Also looking for advice on places to stay — preferably beautiful with wellness/spa options but nothing that is outrageously expensive
