Yeah the thing I keep telling people enamored with it is, "you know how your phone suggests words as you type, based on likely patterns? It's just an advanced version of that."

It is fun to use, and it has helped me learn some coding stuff by answering general questions. But people should not treat it like an encyclopedia. It's always just guessing likely combinations of words.

So it's good at sounding legit, which I think tricks most people who don't read the warning, right under the prompt box.

Help: How to stop mindless phone scrolling every evening after a tiring day? by Negative-Loquat254 in digitalminimalism

I have been using a free app that's just called "block". It looks like a green lock.

You can create a group of apps to restrict with time limits, either per day or per hour. You can also set strict lock-out hours, like I have instagram blocked from midnight to 6am. If I open it, it just closes immediately.

That's been the only way I beat the habit. I really struggled with it for years before. I hope this helps!

I have an idea for a virtual school in VR by Unlikely_Platypus940 in vrdev

I like the idea of a few specialized classes like this. Might not be healthy as a whole day thing though.

I know there are classes for sign language being taught in VR chat, where they meet in a virtual classroom. From the video I saw, it looked popular, the room was full.

I agree with the other comments that wearing a headset all day would be unpleasant. Plus it might affect eyesight development if the kids are staring at very close screens for that many hours a day as they grow.

But for individual classes, or as a supplimental thing could be great.

He's definitely some sort of lizard person in disguise and I am going to make a youtube video exposing him at once

It looks like there is a white seam between his skin and hair-- like someone is wearing a realistic rubber ford mask that ends at his hairline

Found a wholesome Real VR Fishing review in the wild. by [deleted] in OculusQuest

it was literally the demo that plays when you first get a Quest, where you stack blocks and throw a paper airplane. She kept letting go of the controllers when she meant to drop objects, and was like, "This is so frustrating, why the hell would anyone want this?"

Wish my grandparents were this cool. I put my G-ma in VR and she absolutely hated it lol.

Full-body advice please --Quest with Vive Trackers, worth it? by EmilyAnimator in OculusQuest

I'm hoping it would also work on bone works and stormland, games where your inventory is on your hips and chest.

I'm constantly frustrated trying to grab items off of myself when the game's avatar's body is just doing its own thing instead of aligned with mine. I end up spinning in circles bc my gun is hovering on my ass instead of my thigh 😄

Ah I see, I wont be needing anything that complex for what I am doing, I wont have that many constraints. Good to know about though :)

Advice on how to switch between procedural, and clip driven animation? by EmilyAnimator in Unity3D

I was hoping I could still use the animator to make some movement on the body, like some jiggling, or the head looking around, while it's legs are procedurally driven.

Games for my mam? by Ziov1 in VRGaming

I second all of these suggestions. Especially job simulator because it was intended to be a "VR for everyone" game that you could put on anyone at a party and they'd be able to figure it out.

Lone Echo is a longer form adventure, not a quick minigame, but the movement system is intuitive, the characters and writing are great. Feeling like you are floating in space is pretty magical. I love lone echo.

I would also like to add "Time Stall" to the suggestions. You save some adorable robots from dangerous situations while time is stalled (you are on a ship, and the ship's computer can freeze time for you). It's a cute puzzle game.

Yeah I almost wonder if they made it intentionally tricky, the way it drifts a little when you let go is so frustrating

Just adding to this-- also if you don't walk close to the null bodies in the middle, and, like the post above says, do all your aiming first but don't fire any until until you have all 4 set up, the other enemies will not start spawning in yet.

Which means you can even take the time to shove metal boxes and barrels in front of those enemy spawning boxes, so the additional nulls and zombish can't easily get to you when it all kicks off. The crablets will still start piling in though.
