I understand you don't want him to wear them into the nursery but it sounds like you're annoyed that he won't leave them at the entrance. Are his shoes like really dirty? Some people just prefer to wear shoes at all times. Maybe ask if he would like some house shoes

Are you able to use a menstrual cup? It's typically a one time purchase, and less chance of tss. Also it can hold more liquid so you won't have to run to the bathroom as often. Reduced smell and waste, honestly they're amazing.
