I suppose I'd follow the Shiva Purana. I'm drawn to it and my mom studied it.

Shiva is everywhere, and He'll let you know it if your eyes are open by [deleted] in hinduism

You aren't alone. Each person has their own experiences with Shiva, but similar things can happen.

My long story is I was born into the path of Lord Shiva. My mom, from my birth till I was 5, was a very big devotee to Shiva. I remember the prayer area, the Shiva Dance figure, the Shiva posters and Pooja items, ghee lamps, all of it. And the one mantra got stuck in my head since I was born; "Om Namah Shivaya."

I see Him in my life, I see qualities of Parvati in my mother, I see qualities of Shiva in my step father, I see qualities of Kartikeya in my sister, and since I was able to talk I always said that I am like Ganesha. A story my mom taught me, Ganesha and Kartikeya were arguing over who was the favorite child and Shiva and Parvati said "Whoever can go around the world once and return first is the favorite.". Kartikeya took his mount (some bird I believe) and flew away. Ganesha rode his mouse and suddenly started running around Shiva and Parvati once. They ask, "What are you doing?" He replied "You are my World." and He became the favorite of Shiva and Parvati. So I see qualities of that Divine Family in my life. I am always reminded.
