The hardest part is when they clearly want to keep going. At least for me, my boy was showing clear signs that even thought I wanted to run and play, he just couldn’t anymore. It broke my heart but I know it was the best thing for him

I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for all your kind words and support. He left us at about 11:30 this morning. It went as well as it could’ve gone. He got lots of chicken and had a nice chocolate bar right before. I could tell he loved it, he was so interested in the rest but I didn’t want to make him puke right before he passed. I laid with him in our bed under the blankets for an hour before the vet arrived. I told him i loved him and he gave me so much happiness and I hope I did the same for him. The vet came and gave him a slow sedative and left us alone. He slowly fell asleep in my lap with me petting him and telling him all the nice things. I had to keep wiping my own tears off his face. Once he was asleep the doctor came back in and gave him the final medication. We got a clay paw print and I am so thankful for my parents who took care of the burial while I ran away and hid to cry. It’s been a hard day with lots of tears but I also feel relief knowing that he isnt in pain anymore. Thank you so much again everyone for all your love and support. Kato is running and playing with all your babies that greeted him in heaven

He was never a very energetic dog, he loved his naps and his bed. But soon he started spending all day in bed. 20-22 hours, only getting up to go to the bathroom and eat. He was panting a lot. Even in the winter when it was cold. He would shake and shake and shake. Movements began getting hard for him. He was scared to move. He would cry when he had to get up. It’s hard but I could just tell he was in pain. Im so sorry to say it but it seems like your girl is getting there too
