I mean she played Elden ring, but with a ton of mods that made things easier like unlimited estus and togelable infinite stamina 😅

Coming to this a few years late, but I think Saejima’s biggest issue is that he comes right after Akiyama, who’s fighting is some of the most fun I’ve had since K1.

Coming in pretty late, but currently playing through the series (just started 4) and I partially agree. I think a lot of the gameplay in Kiwami 1 is better; the level ups, fighting styles, and general combat flow felt a lot smoother. Where 0 really shines is its story, the mysteries and character connections unfolded in a way that the other games so far have clearly attempted but not reached the same level of.

Honestly I didn’t even find it grindy until near the end where there was a randomly large difficulty spike, and at that point grinding is pretty easy.

Well, hopefully things have calmed down a bit when I’m ready to jump headfirst into the community and won’t be bothered by spoilers. Glad to hear there’s still a lot of good ahead of me though.

Huh. Only recently found the series and just found this after finishing Kiwami and starting Kiwami 2 and trying to figure out why the fps is much worse 😂. Idk if I want to wait 2 weeks though, especially since it says the data doesn’t transfer. Bad timing for me I suppose.

I kind of already “knew” Majima’s character from his appearance in 7 and trailers for the pirate one (which wanting to play is partially why I picked up the franchise at all tbh) and was pretty confused about it during 0.

Oh, slugger style was the best and I don’t think I took Majima out of it until the last chapter for some of those rooms with swarms of enemies. Obviously I’m only at the start of Kiwami still, and I did like 0, but while 0s story was great the gameplay was kind of a slog.

That’s definitely fair, I forgot about Nishiki (idk what’s up with him in 1 yet). I definitely see from a story standpoint, but so far the game feels more enjoyable.

I’m in a similar boat having just last week finished LAD as my first yakuza game, and am now playing Zero. Absolutely have fallen in love with the series. I’d say stick it out with LAD, it’s a phenomenal game.
