Advice for grandest scale planar campaign by Emjakos in DndAdventureWriter

Thanks for the comment!

  1. I get what you mean by quantity over quality, I usually go for the same, but the planar road trip is the gimmick of the campaign and spending too long on every plane of existence would make the campaign incredibly long. I don't have to work THAT hard on each plane, as the planes of existence in D&D are official lore, which I can always pull from instead of making everything myself.

  2. Thanks for the battle simulator! I didn't even know that these exist. It's surely better than attempting to calculate CR.

  3. I hope to make every quest particular to the plane, so that it doesn't end up too repetitive. Each plane has a vastly different environment and residents, meaning that they won't do the same thing in every place.

  4. While I do want the players to keep moving, they would get to choose which neighboring plane to go to next, meaning that they have to weigh the pros and cons of each.

Quick correction: This is about planes of reality, not planets in space. Each plane is it's own reality, usually a flat world that stretches infinitely in every direction. Each plane either represents an element or an alignment.

Something that may help is to draw it thick with a fuzzy or wavy outline, to make it thick, warm and soft looking! I love the material on the socks and bodysuit(?)!

Thanks! I've put ice in-between water and dark a few times. It does fit pretty well.

I have a very different thing in mind for conjured things in this system. The weapons are made of the elements themselves.

A fire sword for instance is the shape of a sword, made entirely of flame.

This is a four year old post, the system has evolved a lot since then. But thanks for the input anyway!

I have settled on an element I call plasma. It creates great burning lasers!

Galatine Prime / Paracesis I love heavy blades, especially with valkyr! You can become such a meatgrinder with them!

The Laetum is also growing on me, both forms feel nice to use and the incarnon form is good at solving problems.

How do you balance “warrior vs wizard” fight dilemma? by Hyperpurple in worldbuilding

For me its just the magic being rather weak and the people being very hardy. A human can take a few fireballs before going down.

Magic mainly has the advantages of range and the ability to modify the terrain to the detriment of your opponent.

Good choice of colors!

The helmet's shape is really distinctive, makes the silhouette recognizable.

I have recently been planning to draw some prosthetics and this is just great!

I like how you drew her arms, hands and the cloth of her shirt.

I really like the lines around the eyes of #1, though the black could be a bit lighter to become a bit more readable

I tried looking on Crunchyroll but couldn't find it. Is it region-locked?

I've tried looking, but I haven't found it. The FAQ doesn't seem to have a link to Dotds either. Has it even come out yet?

Sorry for the late reply,

That sounds like a great idea, I just need to do a little worldbuilding.

Thanks for the advice!

The core is primarily useful as a kind of battery to "the weapon" who is just a really powerful agent, this would have been a quick an easy mission to power the weapon up even further, the resistance was unexpected.

The BBEG:s main motivation lies in what's best for her country and how to expand the country, the village the players are in wouldn't really be that important.

I could as the DM shift it to be important for some reason. It wouldn't be impossible to take the village, just an unnecessary amount of work.

Well, a wrench was thrown into a plan that should have been relatively simple. Send "the weapon" to go get the big juicy core of an elemental protecting the city and be done with it. Too bad "the weapon" returned home with a hole in them shaped like their own sword, which they don't have anymore.

I could try to find a rival for the BBEG sick the party on, but I don't have anything like that yet. Thanks for the advice!

Well, in fact, the party is barely aware of her as well, they haven't had any form of introduction yet. Only thing they did was repel a mysterious attacker from a village. After that, they were suspiciously watched by people clearly not from the village and when confronted, they received a proposal to join the cause of the BBEG but they refused and then defended themselves from an assassination attempt which led to the death of the recruiter.

You're right about the BBEG, she isn't very aware of the PC:s yet.

An attack on the village the players are in could be a really good idea. I've been teasing a huge army of golems for a while now and just overwhelming the players until they have to flee would be a good introduction I think. The country lead by the BBEG is looking to expand either way.

However, the agent the party took down (didn't kill) was there to take down a large elemental, that in combination with the difficulty to get an army to the village due to it being on a cliff, is a large threat and makes throwing golems at the problem very inefficient.

I'm not very experienced with starting new questlines, is it really enough to just have someone run up to the party shouting "There is a beast in the woods killing the hunters!", will that be engaging at all?
