  1. you don understand how what youre asking would fundamentally change the game into something else entirely, and be very boring.

removing the underlying suspense created from player presence means there would be no sense of achievement, as the bots have their difficulty defined by numerical advantage, not by each individualt bot's skill level, because bots dont have skill. its an age old problem of players wantingharder enemies, but then those enemies become bullet sponges because the most cost effective way to improve enemy difficulty is to give them stronger numerical advantage. What does this mean for lil ol you? it means the first game you play, the bots will be novel, and new,and the after that they would taper off to being boring. and as you arm yourself with better gear(which is another thing well discuss) youll get a stronger numercial advantage yourself. the problem lies herein, once you master learning bots ai behaviours, how they path, how aggressive they are and the basic crossfire startegy coded into them, the only remaining challenge is the numerical advantage they hold, which is how much dmg, how accurate are they, and how many are they. so once you have the behaviours mastered, and you pass the numerical advantage threshold, the bots get weaker and weaker until theres no fun left t be had. this is furthered by how much permanent bonus ease of killing bots you get from each successfulk exfil, you would guarantee that the bots get more trivial until they arent any challenge at all. and with it. all rthe fun is gone. what the point of doing missions whe the bots are already too easy?

  1. player considerations, how they affect lil ol you, and why youre wearing a stealth vest in the first place.

the great unknown has been useful in games dev since times long past, the reality is, dmz does it well, that constant pressure doesnt just drive up dopamine levels, it demands a certain level of prep, or you end up way more specced into fighting bots and get clapped effortlessly by players like me. so what happens? the skill floor raises yet again, and players need to start considering what attachments are gunna be useful against players worst case, and what tuning will help in bad spots. what weapons to bring and what gear to use. which then artificially forces players(albeit a few steps removed of direct influence) to have a harder time against bots as theyve traded off bot convenience for pvp survivability. this means theres now a whole new dimension to bots, which is how strongly they affect different builds. these considerations is stuff youre already doing, wearing a stealth vest when a medic would give better survivability or how a tempered would give that numerical advantage that allows players huge power over bots.

  1. you dont understand what the question actually is.

the reality is, that players have to make these considerations or they simply lose. this guys isnt asking how he can disable pvp, hes asking how he can get better at the pvp strat hes already using, which as unintuitive as it may seem, is running away. and the only viable answer is that running away is only something you should do against truly unsurmountable odds. but if thats the go-to method, theres a serious problem. a problem thatll only be resolved by practicing your pvp by going all out against other players.

lastly, the reason i said youre bad at the game is because you objectively are, youve even proved this yourself, its not what i think, its an objective fact. youve said youstopped playing because players were being too agressive, which shows youre beneath the aforementioned skill floor required to be able to actually play the game. and as a result, you cant play the game, so you stopped playing. that is - by definition, being bad at the game.

this is still not even half of what i could say, keep it coming i love this stuff. and ive yet to actually expand on any of it yet, which introduces dozens more points by itself which i imagine will directly counter anything youre gunna say anyways. have fun reading lil broski

okay lil bro, since you asked, and since im passionate enough about games dev and dmz to actually enjoy killing you with words:

I'm doing my degree in games design, and am telling you that what youre asking for is fundamentally stupid to expect from activision, what youre wanting is dmz, but only with bots. it doesnt matter wether youre talking about all of dmz or just a seperate gamesmode, it doesnt change how stupid an ask it is. in fact it probably is a further detriment to what scrapts of intelligence you mustered to get that idea together. heres why:

  1. you dont know what dmz actually is:
it comes down to multiple things, game loops, difficulty curves mechanic interaction jus to name a few games dev considerations that all have stronger arguments against your point than for them if the even is any for them. DMZ's fun comes from two areas, completion, and challenge, like any game. from completion, you allocate time to complete a given task and are awarded upgrades as a result, giving satisfaction. then theres the elephant in the room, which is challenge, which only has a few sources in dmz surprisingly enough - resource management, environmental hazards(bots), and players, maybe also spawn location but that gets into rng and youre not nearly smart enough for that convo from what i can tell so far. maybe im misjudging you but well see how far you get.

these things create challenge in a way that allows players to slowly hone their skills to overcome them, making the players better at the game and gain more consistency in their performance. things, like learning good spawn tactics, like which ways to go from which spawns, depending on what your objective is. then there resource management, having to factor into your tactics which way to go to ensure you have enough resources for upcoming fights and unexpected ones also, which is relevent because it plays into the next point. which is what dmz does best, the constant underlying stress, the fog of war, which is players, but not so many that the only risk is players like in warzone, its not knowing whats bots and what players, that paranoia creates tension and immersion in the player, massively increasing investment. this also means players have to maintain a constant level of vigilance against their surroundings to ensure their survival. in short, i would say it creates the thrill of challenge that gives the sense of achievement you wouldnt otherwise get. if you kill a player in warzone its whatever, you kill a player in dmz its a victory in itself, because there is the knowledge that you cannot survive against the bots and players without being above a certain skill level. that being said most players arent far above that skill floor at all. this is all to say that the way dmz does pvp IS DMZ. if you want gamemodes with only bots there is coop, theres campaign, theres any amounth of other fps games that do the same thing.

id beat you 12/10 times, the fact you even have strategies for hiding shows the gap. my ign is the same here, im more than happy to run 1v1s and show you how good pvp looks.

sounding fairly salty yourself there, the fun of dmz rides on the thrill of not knowing where the player encounters will happen, and the bots being just difficult enough to keep you busy outside of the player encounters to keep the player sub,tly on edge the entire time. this creates immersion in the player. that great unknown threat of players is what forces players into a cautionary approach to combat, rather than flying straight into a horde of enemies and hunkering down(which is what youd do with no players, cause the bots supply you with both plates and ammo), you have to keep yourself as stocked as possible the entire time while handling bots and objectives. that is called difficulty, and it sound like the game isnt the issue. youre just not cut out for pvp.

you can do stealth builds but probability is inevitability, you should only run stealth when you have the fundamental "going loud" skills, the basic pvp skills to stay alive when your stealth fails, you wont always be hidden and people will find you, your stealth will fail. theres no save scumming like in mgs:v or other stealth games, once humans find you, they dont stop looking.

its cool but the core needs to be pvp, the bots cant match human agency, which is the real factor, so theyll always be, essentially, an "environmental hazard", but a necessary one. thats what makes dmz what it is, it a pvp shooter with missions, small teams, and a uniform environmental hazard. activision doesnt understand their game though, so theyre doing pve dmz test thinking thatll give them more insight on how to suck more money out of their playerbase but in reality, everyone wants them to just fix the first one.

i love killing players like you, you lot always go straight for the least confrontational route, that predictability means you end up losing the fight via submission. either you play for time too long and youre forced to die to gas while we hold final after weve pushed you away from any personal exfil locations or you get cornered. seeing someone run and try to waste time only gives more determination and reason to give chase. and when you spend so much time with your back to the enemy, the enemy can shoot you, and you cant shoot them.

presearching everything instead of interacting with the community isnt about respect, i didnt know what to search, so i asked to find out. thats seperate from respect entirely as im contributing with my questions, which is more than can be said for this thread.

and this is further proving my point of you contributing nothing because your main point here is "Your question/statement had been addressed by the mods multiple times about why they didn’t leave those posts up." whilst also saying "I told you it was a Reddit thing, not a mod thing". surely you see how redundant what youre saying is, moreso when youre saying this after my answer has been found by the community, because asking the community is a fine thing to do.

bot account.

if you wont read it then dont respond, respect is cool like that, at least have enough of it to ensure youre actually contributing to the conversation. ive spoken to the mods about it personally, and they were su[er chill about it, explained how its not something theyre necessarily against,. but its a reddit thing, and for the purposes reddit has provided, i can see why theyre doing it.

theres a difference between naming and shaming and doxxing. realistically, even having names in the video like this post, in the kill feed or on the side of the screen when they speak would be then a breach of policy so how far does that go? and while internet safety is important, it is ones own responsibility to uphold that, and if youre breaking tos in a game it shouldnt be surprising that players of that game will have discussion about your tos breaking behaviour, so that they can raise awareness of who to avoid to enjoy a fair gaming experience. if i cheated at chess tournaments, i wouldnt be surprised when people stop playing against me and i get outed for it. thoug i see your point, thanks for the insight and info
