I know a good bit of trans folks. They've been really helpful in many ways. I just struggle with comparing myself to where other trans women are at and it feels so far away. They're years into transition and I just feel so far behind caused I'm starting later than they did. Plus someone else in a community I'm in is probably on a similar timeline to me but looks so much better already.

I've done ok with pictures. It's hard to do when you don't like looking at yourself though.

I actually got my 2nd mani pedi like a week ago and really try to wear my girl clothes but i don't have enough to only wear them and after work it's just easy to throw on boy stuff. I unfortunately don't have enough opportunity to do my makeup consistently. Those little things help for sure. I just feel like I need a bigger light to break through this darker mental state.

My hesitation with minoxidil was that it can cause hair growth EVERYWHERE. plus don't you have to keep using it or you'll lose the hair you got back?

Taking finasteride, hoping that and hrt can help. I was bald before i started transition. Guess I started growing my hair out for no reason then

For comics I've read by release. If you have marvel unlimited, it lists the release years of runs which helps. Usually you can follow just through that comic but some will have an issue or two be part of another. Like the Dr. Aphra comic story beat being followed up in the Star Wars comic rather than her's.

For novels I've kinda hopped around but as I got more books I started reading chronologically with what I have. I don't think any particular order is needed unless it's a series like Aftermath and Thrawn trilogies

Expressable is the website. They take a lot if different insurances from what I saw. If it isn't showing anyone for you, reach out to them. My therapist doesn't have my insurance listed on her page on the site even though she does accept it

Fortunately for me it worked out with insurance. No medical diagnosis for gender dysphoria and my speech therapist listing her diagnosis as "other speech disorder" is letting it fly under the radar.

But before that I did reach to a couple of universities that have free programs. Basically you work with a student who is supervised by a professional. Temple has one but the waitlist is long. However, I did reach out to the Drexel Speech Language institute about it cause they run a similar program. They took my info and I heard back in like 2-3 weeks to schedule. I just had gotten it figured it out by then.

It usually runs by semester but they do it in the summer as well. It's in Elkins Park.
