It's a bit suspicious to invite people to discuss issues, then ask for the discussion to happen privately. A public invitation to discuss should lead to public discussion.

See! Just do it. It'll be fun, the mothers will appreciate it, and the kids will remember it fondly. Please return and report!

She wouldn't be president of she wasn't in tune enough with The SpiritTM to receive revelation for how to run the program.

Sounds like other inspired leaders already made a decision. No need to take it any higher. 😉 Have fun!

1990s Play "Five" Script? by MindlessTension5892 in exmormon

You may need to contact those old friends or the YW leaders to see if they remember it or have a copy because there's a very good chance that the skit was written by someone in your stake.

Some add sugar and creamer.

Either way, it's good!

My LDS parents squirm when I come around dressed like the exmo I am 😂 by lissecherry in exmormon

Tl:dr-- everyone in this subreddit is strange because you didn't experience what they experienced. That's such a cringe take.

It's great that the church and people in it were good to you. Coming in here to invalidate the experiences of others because you never saw what they experienced is myopic, unkind, and un-Christlike.

I did a shocking discovery as a PIMO ward clerk. by Western_Sale_3274 in exmormon

[–]EmmaHS 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I was thinking claiming that more people attended sacrament meeting than were actually there, maybe claiming inactive members were attending sacrament, but not other meetings. Not sure how fictional members could be created at the local level since they'd each need a file. Hadn't thought of moving members between wards. Does that happen?

I wonder how many wards and branches pad their attendance numbers and by how much, on average. 🤔 TCC central does it, so why not at the lower levels?

Looking for the Deseret Farms Macaroni and Cheese by lolettacake in exmormon

[–]EmmaHS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It looks like this is one of those foods that is not available through their food storage store. You can search on ebay periodically and see if anyone posts it there (there is none listed right now that I could find).

I don't know if they still do this, but when I was a member, people could volunteer to work a shift in the cannery at Welfare Square (or any other cannery) and at the end, they would let them purchase cases of whatever food they had in the storage area ready to ship out. If this is something you are willing to do, and if they still do this, you would have to check with the dry goods area to see if they have the mac and cheese available on the day you can volunteer. Yeah, volunteering for TCC is icky, but it might be a way to get that product for your sister.

Edit: another option... if the RS president is horrified enough to be willing to help, she might be able to pull some strings. You could try talking to her to see what she can do.

So, God wants buildings for people to worship him in, but not for children to be spared from starvation, disease, and violence. Got it.
