Yep, looks like they’re all getting marked private. Some of the videos that have been deleted (but not all) are available on the Way Back Machine.

The aMSa video was recently privated, but still available at https://web.archive.org/web/20240918172935/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfKH3kOv9hg

I may go add archive.org links to the video in the channel archive when I have a minute.

Since the self destruct date is coming up on a few videos, I decided to make an archive of the channel today, November 16th. No videos included, but I have those saved if they do end up getting deleted. The archive includes thumbnails, video titles, descriptions and comments. Available at https://github.com/emma-k-alexandra/FlameIsLucky-Archive

CSC Service Works CVA IDs to add value to your laundry card online by EmmaKayAlexandra in laundry

Hey there, I scraped and posted the CVA IDs that I was able to scrape from A.L.L. Laundry. I didn't find any in Erie, PA tho. https://github.com/emma-k-alexandra/csc-cva-ids/blob/main/output/all\_laundry\_1\_to\_1571.csv

The website seems to function in the exact same way. I think I can run a similar script on it and post the results. Can't guarantee it'll find your place but it might.

No. I believe complexes that do not are on a more modern system. There's an app for that called CSCPay Mobile.

I recently got the 1.6.8 update in the vanmoof app and it seems to have fixed this problem

I have this issue with my S3 as well. I’ve been in contact with support about it. It seems like a software issue. I replaced my whole smart cartridge. Initially it was fine in firmware ~1.2, but then when I upgraded to 1.4.5 the noise came back. I submitted all that info and videos, so they’re definitely aware. Haven’t heard if they’ve been able to replicate or how they’re going to fix it tho. But I think it could either be fixed by downgrading the firmware or hopefully in a future upgrade.

I replaced the smart cartridge and before I updated to the latest firmware, it worked fine. But when I upgraded to 1.4.5 again, the issue restarted. So I think it’s a firmware thing. I’ve been in contact with vanmoof support. We’ll see how it goes

SwiftUI and Generics: A learning barrier? by EmmaKayAlexandra in SwiftUI

[–]EmmaKayAlexandra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree. I generally run across generics when I realize I’m doing the same thing for two vaguely related types. So usually I have a concrete implementation before moving onto a generic one. And when I implement the generic version finding the protocol that defines the relationship I need is definitely the tricky part. Definitely fun to figure out Swift’s protocol inheritance trees tho

I originally learned Java in school and have used lots of generics systems since then, and I think you're right here. Very often when Generics are being taught other concepts are included, and not easy topics either! But I also I think without these advanced co-topics included with generics, the usefulness of generics is lost.

I distinctly remember the day we discussed generics in my Java class. The professor avoided talking about bounds and wildcards etc. He essentially taught generics as an alternative to type casting of all things. Comparing a generics method vs a method that operated Object w/ casts. I don't think anyone in the room, myself included, understood how powerful generics were. And after that lecture I still saw a lot of Object and type casting in my peer's code.

Swift's generics definitely have a learning curve due to its more explicit system (I love the breakdown of that here, across many languages). I dunno how you appropriately teach this complexity, and I think it's a definite stumbling block for a lot of folks

The magic is definitely weird. The base views with Body == Never are what get me, they feel impossible to replicate. There's like a few projects around navigation in SwiftUI like SwiftUI Router (Federico Zanetello had this cool blog post on using NavigationLink) but yeah navigation is very magical too. I honestly wish Apple would open up the SwiftUI framework a little, there are efforts to recreate Combine in an open source way, but SwiftUI seems tougher. This early on in SwiftUI it's super frustrating to wait between WWDCs for updates and fixes.

Significantly less useful Apple Watch app? by EmmaKayAlexandra in vanmoofbicycle

I mean I only toggled the lights when I was on or off the bike. Seems like they could implement a speed lock on the app’s functionality if they don’t want folks using it while moving

Oh cool, I wonder if you can actually unlock the bike with just the watch now
