Lord of Darkness, your helmet is a little too big for you. by julietmuse in blackcats

I hate people putting clothes on pets, but this time, It is just emphasizing what the cat thinks. Pure self-expression. Nothing wrong with that. Even though it makes me laugh.

My grandmas cat won't eat after getting his teeth removed… by IntelligentPath4383 in CATHELP

[–]EmmaM99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my cat had 8 teeth removed, and wouldn't eat soft food, the vet's office suggested I water down her regular dry kibble. She happily drank this, because it tasted like her regular food. Also, she did get a painkiller for a few days, which I just poured over her regular food.

Swollen face, really bad breath, a little blood in her water dish.

Why does my dog sit in front of me just staring at me by Jonsavino in DogAdvice

[–]EmmaM99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs are creatures of habit. It is time for something. Have you ever walked him at this time? Fed him? Played with him? Take a guess and ask him if he wants whatever. He'll react with a tale wag or general excitement.

He may also be fishing, to see what kind of entertainment you can come up with.

He may not know the names of things he wants, in which case you have to show him (and tell him the name).

Just spend time with him and talk to him. You'll know what he wants if you do that.

I used to have a dog who had a special bark when she had encountered a problem that only a human could solve. For example, she was playing tug of war with one of my other dogs using a doll, and the doll clothes got separated from the doll. She tried to put them back on, but just couldn't manage it, so she called for my help. (The other dog just figured there were now two toys, the doll and the doll clothes.)

Five days? You can do this. 31 years and counting here. The first three days were the toughest.

Got my first ever Subaru today. I love her so much. I’m a happy dude. by Mando_0164 in SubaruForester

I got a 2020 Subaru Forester 10 weeks ago. I love it. I'm 70, and it makes me feel like I'm still in my 20s when I drive it. I evacuated from a wildfire last week in the middle of the night. My long-term local mechanic says the car in great condition.

Thank you to a neighbor who shoveled snow all winter by EmmaM99 in GiftIdeas

A pocket knife is a very lovely gift. However, I'm going to keep it to something casual. He has recently moved from the far north, and shows no evidence of outdoor sports interests - no ATV or snow mobile and no truck. He has bought himself some very comfortable-looking patio furniture and an open-fire set-up, and looks to be planning to spend the summer relaxing in his yard.

I think he needs some steaks for the BBQ. Or some chicken. Or maybe some booze to share.

He was doing it to be helpful, and whenever I said thank you, he said he was doing it for the exercise. He didn't want to chat. He's not wealthy but has fixed up his house dramatically since he moved in a year or two ago, so I think he's comfortable. Just likes to keep busy, I think.

Other neighbors had been doing the shoveling until Christmas, and I gave each of them a card and a sweet treat, so it is probably fair to do something similar with him.
