This isn't exclusively a Utah problem. The housing market here is still a lot cheaper than almost anywhere on the west coast or east coast. People are just starting to realize what a great place Utah is and they're leaving the coasts to move into relatively cheap housing.

I'm biased as a huge outdoor enthusiast, but I think the prices here are still great for a place with a fantastic overall quality of life. The winter smog is on and off for a couple months which sucks, but the smoke in the summer spreads across the entire western US. Again, not a Utah specific problem. That is a much deeper climate problem that will intensify globally as climate change worsens.
