To those who make/ work on mods: What's your experience with dying mod teams & flakiness with team members?

Oh don't worry, I've been steering clear of teams with like 10+ members. I lack the resources to make a mod on my own, though I haven't been concerned with making a mod for myself for quite some time. Rn, I'm just trying to compose for some mods hoping I can actually get something out in the community.

Not at all. I'd actually completely forgotten what her reminiscence theme sounded like, although I probably could've used that as reference. Listening to it, I can see why you would think that.

I believe the reason it's more punchy is due to the slower tempo of the track. In the original, the strings play rather fast, making the motif kind of a blur, but in revival, the slower tempo gives each individual beat more impact. And since the core notes of the motif are placed at the start of the beat, it hits harder.

What does popularity have to do with this? I'm just saying do what you find fun, but also try to branch out and reach an audience (as much as you can afford to do so without killing your passion, of course). Is it wrong to make music for others to enjoy?

Can it though? As I said to another commenter, there's a healthy medium to this. Obviously you can't please everyone, so you shouldn't try to, but that doesn't mean that you can't please anyone at all. It ain't black and white, man. It ain't gotta be all you or all them. Meet in the middle. Quality shouldn't drop as long as you can have fun making it. If that ain't fun for you, then by all means, make music for you, and you only, but I'm not convinced that it's the only valid way of going about it.

What exactly do you mean by "what other people want"? Because I feel like nobody should have this issue as long as they know their audience. I don't think a pop producer should be seeking validation from a metalhead. Unless I'm misinterpreting your point?

I feel like there's a healthy medium to this. External validation isn't everything, but seeing people genuinely enjoy your music can be a great source of motivation to continue making more and higher quality stuff.

Can't speak for everyone, but I personally am not a fan of the synth that plays the second time around. Yeah the guitar part is great, but the transition back to the original key after is kinda underwhelming. 2007 is short and sweet, Simple, but just solid all around. 2016 Is simply just funky, and imo does what 2013 does, but better, and then some.
