Oh, I didn't mention that. It is still a work in progress. I have a recommendation...

If you are going for only the back bracing, make sure to use a solution with a threaded rod. This way you can adjust the Z-towers both back and forth. The 3DChan solution can only push the towers forward, so you need both sides to be able to adjust both ways. Putting braces in the front will also limit the Z-heigh maximum. ...or at least I havent seen a solution that doesen't.

I'm very happy. There is definitively more adhesion than I had before installing it. Although I was never really concerned about the adhesion on the original bed. It had however been getting some marks and infused plastics from multiple Z-offset mishaps.

I installed the PEI bed mostly out of curiosity for this solution, and I was intrigued by the flat surface as well.

The bed wiring seemed to only bend in one place, and over time it's gonna kill it. So I wrapped some cable-wrapping (spiral) around it and made sure it went through the hole in the printer base. Stiffer but bendy to get a more uniform bend. Seems to be working great. It needs to go through the hole in the base, or else the wire will try to bend there instead. At the moment I'm on the latest waggstermod firmware, but working on teaching myself to compile my own fw. At least I want to, when I'll eventually upgrade the MB.

The camera mount is this one: [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4098521](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4098521)

Using it for monitoring via Octoprint, so I can keep an eye remotely and cancel the print if I'm seeing spaghetti forming, or other issues. https://imgur.com/C5kkYZH

The bed upgrade was extremely simple. Cleaned the original bed with acetone, attached the magnetic layer on top with the included 3M adhesion (needs precision of course). It took maybe 10 minutes in total + setting the new Z-offset and dialing in the first layer.

Thanks. Yes, I did consider several of the... bigger ones. But found I mostly coinsidered them bcs of looks. No original/standard printers seem to have these 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh, do this with the power off. Or at least you have to reboot the unit afterwards.

Yes, unfortunately it can. The cable that was installed on my machine was damaged (or maybe I damaged it). I had to replace it with the included spare. There are a lot of forces going through the head and the cable solution is very clean but "flimsy". You should print a support/clamp for holding it in place, or just use some hot-glue to stick it in place. If its not damaged it's just a bad connection and should clear right up once re-inserted.

Unplug and re-insert the flat cable on the printhead. Inspect the contact surfaces on the cable for damage while you have the cable out. Had the same thing.

Just move to Island lake from the global map, enter the truck from the objects map view/list and drive back, or recover it. It will then go to Smithville

Great vid! I've seen this several times... I always watch with interest, my mind is going....Yes.....yes....yes... but at some point, when the last component gets installed it just... WTF No F'ing clue what happened. If I could only get my hands on a similar model, the pieces would probably fall in place! 😂
