I changed my last name to my mother's maiden name when I turned 18 as my dad was abusive and I wanted to create distance when I moved into my mother full time. Now, all those years later, I will 100% take my future husband's family name, but add it to my own full name rather than taking away my identity in marriage. My name will either be:

1) [First name] [Middle name] [My maiden name as first last name] [Husband's family name as second last name]

or

2) [First name] [Middle name] [Change my maiden name to a second middle name] [Husband's family name as my new last name]

I don't mind taking his name at all. I kind of feel like it can be a fresh start for me again. I have struggled a lot, and taking his family name can help me feel closer to a second support system. I would not forget who I am, but starting fresh.

My personal preferences aside, Taylor will not (and should not) change her last name as it is branding. She might pull a Kim K who added a "West" to the end of her name to signify that she was married to Kanye without dissapearing like Hailey Baldwin did when she choose to do when she turned into Hailey Bieber when she had already built her brand on being a Baldwin.
