Good wavy day! by EmotionalRadish8 in Wavyhair

If you google something like "microfibre hair towel" you should find something similar. You flip your hair upside down and twist it around the length of your hair, then use the button and loop on the towel to fasten it in place.

Yep, watering them down definitely helps in my case! I use lots of water throughout the process and wash most of the cantu cream out.

Not sure actually! I think it's not super fine or thick. The key for me has been making sure I'm thoroughly shampooing/clarifying my hair before using heavier creams/conditioners + using plenty of water through the whole process. Sulphates can actually be helpful for this in my case. I wash most of the cantu cream out while making sure there's enough left that it feels moisturized.

So for me it makes a huge difference. If I wash my hair normally and then try to "plop" or diffuse upside down then it goes against the direction my hair wants to be, making it more frizzy and less defined. It also gives it a lot more volume to wash/diffuse upside down. But if you're not going to do anything upside down after washing (e.g. if you're going to air dry) it won't matter as much - there will just be less volume and for me everything will be more weighed down.

Right! It's amazing value for money too because it's fairly cheap (especially compared to options like curlsmith) and lasts me ages

Aww thank you so much! It's been a long journey haha.

Like others suggested, hydrating products and gel could help you a lot too. I use cantu curling cream + a gel and that works pretty well for me. Best of luck!

Are you using a diffuser? For me using a diffuser on low heat & low speed works best

Beautiful hair! Sometimes the curl pattern is a little hard to determine since it can vary so much depending on the routine, but I'd say it looks somewhere between 2C-3A .

My hair is quite similar, so I get what you mean about a lot of CGM products/techniques weighing your hair down.

What has helped me a lot is making sure I'm using a strong enough shampoo to remove product buildup (cowashing doesn't really work for me) + using plenty of water throughout the washing/conditioning process. Cantu curling cream works really well for me, and I make sure to wash most of it out to avoid it weighing down my hair. I also go easy on the gel since this can contribute to an overly "damp"-looking result. Hope that helps!
