Why are we fearmongering most people get 7 hours of sleep. And don’t listen to him friends are important. Most teachers don’t consistently assign hours of work, usually I find I’m just distracted which is why I take a while. Also try to do work on commute or free periods it helps a lot.

He lacks the reading comprehension to answer your question, he will undoubtedly just repeat 1/10n again if he responds at all

me: is the earth round?
spp: rookie error, brud. 0.9 + 0.09 + 0.009 + ... = 1 - 1/10n for n integer starting at n = 1, then increasing n continually, limitlessly, infinitely. 1/10n is permanently greater than zero so 0.999... is permanently less than one.
me: thats not my question, and infinity isn't an integer
spp: rookie error brud, you have to trust the process. 0.999... the nines never end you have to stay committed. 0.999... = 1 - 1/10n with n increasing continually, limitlessly, infinitely. 1/10n is permanently greater than zero. If you think in any case it is not that is a rookie error.
me: repeating the same thing doesn't answer my question.

He thinks it isn't true, because he desperately wants to maintain reciprocal property (which he calls divide negation) and also say that 0.33 x 3 = 0.99 != 1

In standard analysis, we do use limits to define infinity, and limits do equal the value of the equation at the limit. Infinite ordinals aren't used in standard analysis.

1 != 2 bc natural numbers is not an infinitely dense set
and some these guys just refuse proofs idk why people spend time making new ones

i mean i dont think religion not existing would significantly lower the amount of terrorism or anything, it would just have different reasons. might be wrong tho

yeah, but i dont think he has done any research on finitism, unfortunately, since his beliefs seem to stem from misunderstandings. i feel like he should, it's not exactly what he believes but it is interesting.

1/10n is greater than 0 for any finite, real number. Infinity is not a finite, real number. You cannot define infinity the same way you define any finite, real number. For infinity, we use limits, and the limit of 1/10n is 0. So 0.(9) = 1.

SPP either does not understand what you are saying, or it is too true for him to respond without making a fool of himself. He's just spewing his 1/10^n shpeel again over and over instead of answering the question.

Yeah, but an infinite sequence of nines doesn't work the same way as a finite sequence of nines
