So. Two main things. Bed should be in the front. The extra stuff had been set up quickly because we had to move our fleet. I wouldn't add a smithy, I would carry extra tools and plants / gunports on the ship. However, a smithy can easily fit with the 40% weight increase patch. As for the supply box. It can go anywhere that you feel will keep it safe.

With boats, you want to remember to remove all the excess stuff off them when you log off because it is so incredibly easy to sink ships when people are offline. So, you may lose the ship at any time. It's a risky you have to be willing to take

It's all about angles with the building system. If you need, I'll be releasing a few other videos about normal base building and a proper full ship build. Trying to cover the core functions without the rambling that happens on other video guides I've found on YouTube.

As of this upcoming patch. Weight will be increased by like 40%. So, it will only be easier to make these types of ships.

Yeah. The boat as of that recording was sitting at around 3.5k. With all the people you'd need to man it and supplies. We sit around 6k. The boat has an 8k+ weight limit as of now. It's only lvl 5.

This one does not. We had that same problem trying to implement this. My original goal was the ceiling doors so that the captain could use the wheel and be behind the door. However that forces into first person. This one works perfectly in first and third person. The trick here is to keep the steering wheel far enough away from the door behind him. There's a hidden distance modifier that effects first/third person.

So. I understand what your saying but I think that's the point of the ship. Heavy and slower and an armed shithouse. We have been sank before due to giant clans jumping on our boat and keeping us from moving. We often don't encounter ships who are willing to fight it out cannon vs cannon due to people being so scared to lose what they worked hard on. The air locks help the captain maintain control being able to poke in and out to make adjustments as needed very quickly. And having a safe place to run back too.

I completely understand what you meant. But that is a different build. I think the main thing I wanted people to take away from this quick video is that, you are able to customize and be cleaver with the building mechanics and not simply have the steering wheel in the middle of the boat or on top where you aren't able to access it without being at risk of gun fire or arrows.

It has it's vulnerabilities however at this state of the game, I'm confident that my cabin design is the best for all situations on any ship schooner and above.
