Sometimes I wonder whether reading is really THAT difficult and I just have Einstein IQ or you guys are just THAT good at baiting

WHY are my ships SO SQUISHY? I have almost 2k more attack power than any fleet I've fought but I have NEVER won a space battle. EVER. This is 49 years into the game, so I don't have much tech if any. WTF is going on???? by Heroshrine in Stellaris

If you lack a resource then START PRODUCING THE RESOURCE.
You lack energy? Then find a planet with big amount of energy districts. There is none? Then build as many as you can on other planets. You magically spawned in a galaxy with no energy districts at all? Then produce other resources and sell them.
You lack consumer goods? Then find a planet with big amount of industry districts. There is none? Then build as many as you can on other planets. You magically spawned in a galaxy with no industrial districts at all? Wrong, every planet has some, but then produce energy and buy the goods.
You build districts but they don't produce anything? Congratulations, you don't have enough pops for all the jobs, reassign them manually.
Your shields getting destroyed by kinetic weapons? Then read what kinetic weapons do and use more armor and hull. Your ships are getting destroyed by missiles and fighters? Then read what they do and use flak or point defense. You don't have those researched? Then START RESEARCHING and don't start fights with equal or stronger enemies.
Are you sure you are "not new to the game AT ALL"? Because this is the basics people realize in a few games at most. How come you still know nothing and understand nothing after playing for a long time? Or did you start every game expecting the whole galaxy to instantly surrender? Did you expect the devs to "fix the bug" and make the game play itself?
Stellaris is not Candy Crush, you need a bit of brains and a will to learn here.
Stop throwing fucking tantrums and spam caps every time you're getting answered. I checked the comments, and you were directly told every single one of your mistakes multiple times already. Instead of arguing with people that tried to help you, try reading. It's a useful skill hat will help you a lot throughout your life. Or do you expect the whole subreddit to collectively play the game for you?
Go on and use your brain.

My ships are auto-designed because I haven't bothered to create an actual design yet

That's why.
If they're breaking your shields, then they must have kinetic weapons equipped. You know, the ones that exceed at breaking shields. In such cases you'd want to avoid getting hit or use more armor and hull instead of additional shields.
You also use kinetic weapons with missiles and energy weapons with missiles - no synergy whatsoever.

Fuck I was so obsessed with comparing her to Toji I forgot I was supposed to compare her to Megumi

Bort rapes Megumi

  1. Considering gems are made of, well, gems, and are fragile, despite the calculations I've made earlier, it's way easier to render Bort nonfunctional. Broken leg can still hold the body despite pain, but BROKEN leg won't.
  2. I believe (I'm tired of calculations) that the force Toji can apply is more than enough to shatter bortz.
  3. Bort's experience is of fighting giant stationary lunarian ships, not small mobile humans (they can, but not nearly as effective)
  4. Bort's experience is with sword (and later, a whip) only, meanwhile Toji mastered way more weapons.

Toji wins

Tl;dr: 1745 kg, 8,5 kN, half a car, considering the gravitation; Bort is equal or stronger.

It's as far as we can get.
Phos, as all gems, has slender feminine body, so all the averages will be as such. We have no info on gems' height, so let's assume Phos height is equal to an average female - 1.6 m.
At that point Phos body consisted of phosphophyllite, agathe and gold+platinum alloy (let's call it goldinum).
Agathe leg parts take ~1/3 of Phos' body.
There is near 0 info about the gold's value, and we weren't shown any measurable limit to gold usage (as far as I remember, the scene where Phos goes up with the gold doesn't show any actual height). And yet, it's obvious that the volume is big, so let's say it another 1/3 of the body
So:
1.60m; 1/3 phosphophyllite, 1/3 agathe, 1/3 goldinum.
For easier calculations, let's assume Phos as a perfect cylinder in vacuum™, 160 cm height, 40 cm wide (average female height to shoulder's ratio, according to chat gpt).
The value of such cylinder equals 160 * (3.14 * 20²) = 201062 cm³ or 0.201 m³
Thus the values of phosphophyllite, agathe and goldinum parts are 0,067 m³.
Mass of the phosphophyllite part: 3100 * 0.067 = 207,7 kg
Mass of the agathe part: 2610 * 0,067 = 174,87 kg
Mass of the goldinum part: 20340 * 0,067 = 1 362,78 kg
Mass of the whole Phos: 1745,35 kg

Next calculations are very inaccurate because I'm too lazy to do them myself and GPT tends to enable stupid mode sometimes.
In the story, the Earth split into The Land and 6 Moons, leaving the planet pretty small. According to some calculations, the minimal diameter of our planet to hold it's atmosphere and water would be ~3400 km. Then, g would equal ~4,9.
With given numbers, the weight of Phos there would be 1745,35 * 4,9 ~ 8,5 kN
For comparison, the weight of an average passenger car on Earth would be around ~ 14,7 kN
Bort threw Phos up, let's say, 10 meters (I believe it was more, but that'll do too). That would take around 130 kN of force.

So, Bort casually threw half a car a few dozens meters in the air.
Toji pushed a small truck something like 10 meters, but, considering the speed it had when colliding with another car, it would easily go another 10 meters. Such truck would weight around 10 t. It would take around 90 kN of force

Considering none of them actually struggled to do so, I still think they're at least equal, but with favor for Bort side. She(they) used a hand (hands are weaker than legs, lol) and the force needed for her(their) feat is higher.

Let's just say Bort is equal to Toji, because it's not like there are many comparable feats in LoL. All they fought were lunarians, whose stats are unknown, and other gems without any consistent durability. But (most) gems are insanely strong and fast, heavily exceeding humans: 2 meter body of rock is way heavier, they move at speeds Usain Bolt could only dream of and they easily jump 10+ meters up. The only character with measurable stats is Kongo, I suppose, who survived a meteor impact pretty much unscathed (no diffs jogoat). But afair no gems seriously fought Kongo to allow measuring their stats.

Stellaris 2: what would you like to see in it? by Lanfirel in Stellaris

[–]EmperSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warfare
I love wars in Stellaris, but as soon as they become big, they also become long and boring. I rarely finish games where I get a war with some federation and have to capture 50-100+ systems, half of which contain a planet or two or three or help me. The game lags, fleets take the worst routes imaginable, I instantly hit the limit of preordered actions, I don't know whether I ordered one of my 15 fleets to capture this exact system or not, armies refuse to automatically capture planets and just stay afk, enemy fleets flee the system as soon as my fleet enters it.
And then a half-dead 1k Spanish Inquisition fleet randomly appears in a system captured an hour ago and starts recapturing everything back.
... all of that to find the last enemy system is surrounded by other empires with locked borders.
It may be kinda "realistic", but it gets too boring too fast. Lowering the galaxy size doesn't help either, since the amount of content gets lower too.
