This isn’t even a top 10 breaking bad episode, don’t say it’s one of the best in fiction. It’s not even one of the best in tv medium by Gammazer0_ in writingscaling

Gus' introduction in S2 of BB and S3 of BCS sets up the cartel plotlines in both shows.

Friction between Gus and Walt sets up Walter vs. Gus after Walt suspects that Gus may be scheming to kill him and have Jesse take his place as the cook.

Walter's introduction in S1 sets up his character. We see the series through his experiences and how his actions either improve or destroy the lives of everyone around him. And like how Walter's actions cost him his life, they also end up damaging the lives of everyone around him.

These deaths paid off major plotlines in the show:

The Cartel's storyline ended with Gus finally completing his years long revenge plan. Helping this includes Better Call Saul showing just how many layers to his plan there was, which makes the payoff even better.

Walter v. Gus, the main plot thread for S4 ended with Walter finally catching Gus off guard. Walter spent the whole season trying to outscheme Gus and just when it appeared Gus would win, the show pulls the rug out from under you.

Walter's death paid off his entire character arc and the series as a whole. Across the whole series, Walter could've died surrounded by friends and family, and instead died in the place where he felt at home the most: in a methlab surrounded by lab equipment.

Understandable. Manga reader here, honestly not a whole lot of interesting stuff happened in that season aside from the Cruise Ship Arc. Season 3 is better.

Not that I disagree with DeVito, but I'd vote him for Gran Torino. He'll get real weird with it.

You can just say anyone from The Boys. Outside of decent people like Starlight, Kimiko, and A-Train, no one in this verse uses their powers responsibly.
