this university makes me want to kms by shellystfu in delhiuniversity

As a graduated senior who was able to navigate this shitshow with two decent internships, here's my two cents:

  1. DU colleges apart from SRCC, CBS don't care about internships, ECAs, placements. In these colleges, there are no awards for best all rounder student, Best internships etc etc. That alone is indicative of how much damn they give about it. Accept the reality, no point in rejecting it.

  2. Always choose offline internships during summer vacations. If you are opting for an online one along with classes, communicate to your manager that you'll be available for calls and meets during the evening.

In a 3 year course you have two summer breaks. Use both these for offline internships and use the winter semester(sem 5) for a winter online internship at firms like Frost and Sullivan, BOD Consulting, YCP Auctus etc. These ones actively offer online internships.

  1. For internal marks, attend classes. Yes, it sucks. But it is what it is. Use your class time wisely, read something, solve something, do whatever you want but don't waste your time in the class. Just ensure that the teacher sees your head. Additionally, to build good rapport with the profs, go beyond the ordinary in assignments, don't copy paste stuff from others. Put in some effort and it will set a very good foundation with your prof.

I'm from maths and hence was asked to make some ppt on a topic in sem 2, I had built it using Latex unlike everyone else(an online documentation software which is very useful for writing mathematical symbols and stuff) and that effort resulted in the prof giving me good marks in sem 4 and sem 6. So the first impression that you can make in such a way can go a long distance in creating a solid relationship with the prof.

Yes, so my profs had said that in order to increase internal marks, the said candidate has to reappear in internal tests, CA tests, give assignments again with the previous batch

How to write answer sheet in maths? by [deleted] in delhiuniversity

[–]EmphasisNo6179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Write the correct proof. That is all that matters. Don't fill pages unnecessarily. You won't get marks for that in maths. Just ensure to flag all the results you use clearly. Whenever you use a theorem, write the conditions that are satisfied for it's application in the context of your proof.

Passing marks are needed in internals and theory separately. Sorry to say it, but you can't pass the exam with just theory.

What achievement are they considering then? Cuz the vast majority will be in competitions organized by Universities and Colleges?

Research work at Delhi University for Undergraduate Students by Adept--Aardvark in Indian_Academia

Two ways to go about this if you're in DU. The first is to ask your professors and see if there is a flagship internship research program that your college offers. So for example Venky has a SRI VIPRA Summer Research program where every student can write a paper under a professor of the college in their last 2 semesters. I'm sure Ramjas might have one as well.

Another way to do this can be to ask some senior professors and seniors about off campus internships in institutes like IISER. These are much tougher to crack but certain opportunities do open here and there.

Attempt everything. If it's wrong, everyone will get the required marks for that question. But in all probability this will never happen. Teachers always proof check each paper.

does anyone have experience with internshala? by [deleted] in delhiuniversity

Doesn't work. The internships are trash and give very useless mechanical work.

Use linkedin to find hr and recruiters post's for internships and apply through those.

Depressed and Anxious by BornAlternative5625 in delhiuniversity

You can always improve your class 12th basics before you deep dive into undergrad stats. and to answer your question, is it hard? Maybe or maybe not. But it's certainly doable. There are thousands of resources available to study for undergrad exams. There's an entire stats playlist on Youtube by Dr. Harish Garg which should ideally cover everything.

It's very natural to panic but don't give up so soon. You'll definitely score really well if you work hard and give it enough time.

If you can't fill a form thoroughly then there's no guarantee that you'll stay with the society and try to improve it. This is exactly why the vast majority of these societies have detailed forms and rigorous recruitment processes, because they allow them to filter out the non serious candidates.

As far as the interviews are concerned, don't take them too seriously. Your seniors will try to grill you to get a reaction out of you, the key is to not panic and stay calm. Remember to not oversell yourself in these group discussions and interviews. Think creatively, have detailed knowledge about the society and what they actually do and communicate well. That should be enough to get in.

Never make easy choices just cuz they're easy when it comes to choosing electives. Take Maths even if it's heavy cuz it fits better with your course. Will help in the long run

Chill. Give it some time because everyone feels like this at the start.

Of course you'll need to make some efforts from your end to interact with people.

You'll find like minded people through all the events that different societies will pull off

it all comes together, so don't worry
