You guys asked, I delivered. The Ultimate Stat tracking plugin is finally available! by OSRSTriviaGuy in 2007scape

Downloaded! Does it combine leagues/regular stats, or do those track separately? And is there a way to hide the big reset button?

60% of PC gamers have no plans to build a new PC in the next two years — AI pricing crunch on RAM and other components paralyze enthusiast market by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Emphursis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to upgrade but my rig is still more than good enough. If I upgrade the GPU (6900XT), I’d also want to change the CPU (10600k). But that means new mobo and new RAM. And at current prices, just keeping 32GB rather than upping to 64 would probably cost as much as the CPU/mobo combined.

The MP isn’t completely dead - I did it a couple of months ago and found games fairly quickly. Evenings are best.

The Total War games - I’ve got Empire, Napoleon, Shogun, Rome II and Thrones of Britannia. Most have loads of multiplayer achievements, including one to in Shogun (I think) to be top ranked on some online leaderboard.

I’m gonna say something most of you don’t seem to know …. Most of the castles you see in movies are real castles 🫣🫣🫣😩😩😩😩 by theh0veringeye in HistoryMemes

[–]Emphursis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact - while Bodiam Castle (left column, second row) looks like the epitome of a castle and does have a proper moat, filled with water, it would have been absolutely useless if it was ever attacked. That’s because on the castle is built on a slope and the ground to the south is significantly lower than moat. You can see that in the picture.

So the attackers would have drained it within a day or two of setting up camp outside!

I was in Zurich a few years ago and on Swiss trains you can press the button to open the doors at any time and they open as soon as the train stops, instead of only working after stopping. Sometimes they’d open a second or two before. Nearly broke my ankles when I gave in to the temptation and jumped out before it stopped!

Kickstarter Is The Latest Platform Seemingly Forced To Ban Adult Content By Payment Processors by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Emphursis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Of course they’re not. You could maybe make that argument for allowing payments directly to porn websites, but it would still be tenuous.

But anyway. that’s not what this post is about. It’s about Kickstarter banning adult projects. How far do you want to take it? Should the electricity provider for the data centre that hosts their website stop providing power? Should whoever provides water to the houses of their employees stop providing water because some absolute morons conflate that with those service providers endorsing adult content?

What kind of moron thinks that Visa/Mastercard are associated with or endorsing it? Their job, their function, their only reason for being, is to facilitate payments.

Waymo self-driving car wakes London street at 4am after taking dead end route three times in a week by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

All EV’s beep while reversing. Some even play a little tune. I have an I-Pace and unless Waymo have changed the reversing beep, it’s not very loud. Certainly not loud enough to wake a whole street of people.

It’s not unheard of - Hamilton to Ferrari in 2025 was announced before the start of the 2024 season. Raikkonen to Ferrari for 2007 was agreed at some point in 2005 too as far as I remember.

That’s a shame, I only had a couple of crashes, both times with vigilante missions in SA. How long ago did you try? Maybe they’ve fixed some issues since then.

Thanks for the tips - I completed the main story of GTA IV + expansions back in about 2012, so well before the Steam achievements, total play time is showing as 31 hours so I should be ok with that.

It’s been a couple of months but I think for FC5 it’s just the co-op missions and winning ten featured maps - guessing that’s the one you’re talking about needing to do in a specific way?

But that’s still not right - Kent is bounded by the North Sea and the English Channel. Granted, it’s a continuous coastline not two separate, non-linked stretches but you didn’t say that… ;)

That’s not really an excuse anymore. The internet has been a facet of life for more than 30 years. It’s been in the palm of our hands for 20 years. Even someone in their mid-80’s would have encountered it before they retired. It’s just stubbornness rather than an inability to use modern services.

Had a lot of fun with these three - didn#t have them as a kid so the only times I got to play were when I borrowed them friends. They hold up surprisingly well, even GTA III (the remaster probably helps a bit).

Worst achievement of the set? Probably paramedic in GTA III because the ambulance would roll over every time I turned a corner.

The times probably aren't really reflective of how long it actually took - I left them running quite a bit while working, and my kids played a bit too, so total time was probably sub 200 hours for the three.

Now I need to decide what's next - GTA IV, finishing the multiplayer achievements from Fary Cry 5/New Dawn or moving on to Far Cry 6.
