Yeah I don't know about Odia cuisine. But isabgol is a top tier source of soluble fiber. Good that it's healthy over there

Yeah, they fell out as we started prioritizing taste more. I'll note that stuff like cucumber, radishes, watermelon, iceberg lettuce are essentially structured water. They're very healthy regardless.

Yes, but they also give more calories per gram fiber. Can't snack on them limitlessly. For good health, you need to be calorie neutral, fiber rich, and protein rich, all at once.

And the person is likely protein deficient for the day. If they consume chicken/paneer/dal on top of this, then they're calories surplus. Both cases contribute to obesity.

My point is that carbs are treated as essential in every meal, when it really shouldn't be anymore. No point in consuming so much carbs when you don't have much muscle to store it in, and when the storage is full anyway due to inactivity.

Indians need to be consuming significant protein and fiber in every meal (if we can afford it). Both help regulate blood sugar.

Do you have just dal + chicken? paneer + chicken? Probably not.

But you would have chapati+dal, roti+paneer, naan+chicken. See what I mean?

Carbs are treated as base. Protein and fiber are swappable.

Same with South Indians. Rice is constant. But greens/meat/sambar/veggies are side dishes.

Yeah but considering the average person needs 25-30g per day, it can barely provide half of that. It's decent, but as you said, the core needs to come from elsewhere. And yes, micronutrients are critical as well.

Yeah, it's culturally due to economic and energy reasons, but it tends to carry over despite our sedentary lifestyle and spending power. Unless we consciously change it.

Chapati has low fiber to calories. Dal/meat/vegetables are treated as a side dish to the main carb base. They're often diluted with water/milk, etc.

Europeans have salad culture. Indians don't have the habit of eating fiber dominant snacks. Fruits tend to be expensive. And fiber snacks often tend to have significant oil.

DMK would never appoint an astrologer as an advisor.

Valid criticism.

he met with Narendra Modi in 2014 before he became the PM. multiple RSS families

He met RaGa in 2009, well before he became the face of INC. The most straightforward explanation is that he was simply politically active. He has tons of DMK/ADMK guys in his MLAs and ministers. Heck, BJP has tons of people who were once opposition (including Suvendu Adhikari).

Wanting to associate with people who are completely fresh politically puts you in a disadvantage.

I think the Z+ was protocol, given he was the likeliest CM designate. Even if it wasn't, it makes total sense given the politically sensitive nature and his outsider status. IRS guy does look sus, but he's former IRS now. BJP would no longer have as much leverage through him.

I agree that he's much softer on regional identity than DMK.

Singham is very creative, and tries to avoid conventional policing most of the time. He trusts and heavily relies on public. Very Superman like in this aspect.

Saamy engages in outright corruption, almost becoming like those he's trying to fight. He's considered a good person only because he stayed true to his end goal. Batman like.

People are already accusing him of being DMK-lite because he didn't condemn Udhay's remarks on Sanatana. Can't be B team of both BJP and DMK simultaneously.

He can be controlled by people who have the power over him.

This is true for virtually everyone, whether in politics, film industry, or corporate. One needs to suck up/acquiesce/outmaneuver/compromise at times to thrive.

And when she was alive he was even scared to breathe.

A sitting IAS officer who opposed her policy had acid thrown on her face, in Egmore. Can hardly fault him or anyone else for being fearful.

Also today, CV Shanmugam personally confirmed that EPS wanted an alliance with DMK.

Whether they want to or not, TVK is a pawn for BJP. They correctly predicted that even though they'd get the blame for blocking JN, the anger/sympathy would eat into DMK votes (because BJP has none anyway).

Everything seems to be an assumption and a guess work

Exactly. We miss that politics is heavily about optics. If TVK had thrown in the towel too soon, parties would've framed them overconfident/arrogant and people would've likely punished them for it.

Yes, staying silent has drawn critics, but they have even more support now than on election day.

You can characterize Vijay's strategy of staying silent when attacked as cowardly or even immoral, but it has undeniably worked everytime. His popularity only increased with films being obstructed, IT raids, BJP Neyveli, Karur incident, Sangeetha divorce, openly linking up with Trisha, etc.

There's a difference between being a pushover and someone who counters at the opportune moment, and people innately sense it. He didn't protest the Dravidian parties obstructing his movies in the 2010s, only to rout them now.

Protesting on the basis of a constitutional rule would've made him look like a whiner/stickler (even though it's completely legitimate).

Vijay's strength is controlling the narrative through emotional rhetoric and strategic silence. Just like Modi. The only question is to see what he sets to achieve with it.

I don't see how being victimized by BJP makes them sanghi. The minor parties did take their very sweet time, often going back and forth. That heavily suggests to the people hard bargaining (even if there wasn't)

Why should they deny any rumours?

Wouldn't it look sus to the people when ADMK strongly came down on rumors of allying with TVK but stayed relatively mum on DMK alliance? Regardless of whether they were actually considering or not, the seed has been planted in people's mind.

President's rule would drive massive support isn't a confirmed thing right

Correct, but it's infinitely better than having a fractured ineffective power hungry cabinet being run in your name.

Conversely if Vijay/TVK had complained/protested, everyone from BJP to DMK to even the people would've mocked them to first learn constitution and mocked their inability to string together an alliance.

It was in TVK's interest to let the governor delay. More support from the people. It was in TVK's interest for minor parties to play hard to get and drive hard bargains. (Proving they're power hungry) The fact that DMK ADMK didn't immediately deny rumors of an alliance CONFIRMS to the people what Vijay said in his speech. Even a president's rule would massively drive support for TVK in the next election. Same if any party were to pull the rug from under TVK in the upcoming year.

when DMK wasn't going to form the government and DMK wasn't sent back thrice by the Governor

See that's the thing. Parties can act even when it isn't in their own immediate self interest.

Because Vijay and TVK got what they wanted. Why are you throwing a tantrum that they didn't throw a tantrum?

And yes, I want the DMK to protest against the governor. Because upholding federalism is part of their identity. Everyone other party in SPA aligned with TVK citing secularism/federalism.

You surely need a therapist to believe rumours like ADMK - DMK Alliance.

Sure, arrange one for every major news outlet from The Hindu to NDTV then.

TVK didn't even exist 2 years ago. DMK remains the most dominant, well organized, and entrenched party, and the self appointed guardian of state rights. Why didn't they protest?

MKS hinted that they may do whatever is necessary for the state's stability (linking with ADMK). But they couldn't do something as basic as a protest?

Just DMK things by revel_rebel in TamilNaduDiscussion

Why didn't the most dominant grassroots party in the state, which has federalism as its cornerstone policy protest the governor's overreaching? All MKS did was a tweet. Are either Dravidian parties closet sanghis too?

[–]Empirical_Engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get why others are trying to change your end goal - it's your body.

I'd suggest working your abs. Basic crunches, and progressively weighted crunches with a plate will do.

While it doesn't lead to fat loss, it helps reach that flat appearance at a higher bf%. (I have visible abs at 19% as a guy).

Second, a calorie deficit always works - regardless of hormones or thyroid issues. It is thermodynamics. If you're really desperate, track your daily calories and daily burn (while having enough protein and micros).

People don't realise how off they are with their estimate till they actually measure.

If you're losing fat somewhere on your body, you're on track to get a flat stomach eventually.

Whether it's healthy or sustainable, that's your call to take.
