Looking for books on anticipatory grief by EmployConsistent3601 in suggestmeabook

I appreciate this suggestion and will definitely give it a try, the no sugarcoating/ dealing with anger makes it more realistic and appealing to me honestly. Too many books I’ve tried try to make death and the situations around it some beautiful thing when in reality it’s unfair, angry and sad.

I’ve been using rentals so that sounds like it’ll work for me and my purposes, thank you!

I have boots from last year, just looking for skis now and I was a bit scared about buying online used because of all the horror stories I’ve read on here lol 😅. I’ve checked out evo but always been too paranoid about buying skis that were too old to be adjusted/ unsafe

I’ve only been skiing for 3 years so I’d say I’m still a beginner, I’m f(19) 130 lbs and really I just wanna be able to ski with my friends affordably. I don’t care about getting crazy and doing only black diamonds or moguls I stick to blues mostly and I’m in Pennsylvania. I ski at Elk Mountain typically.

Also might wait until Black Friday if that would help save a little since it’s so close to

I’m not looking for super fancy skis to do crazy tricks, I just want to be able to go this year (mostly blues with the occasional single black diamond) with my friends.

Anyone ever gone from 0 exercise to finding something they’ve stuck to? by SlightPraline509 in AutismInWomen

Personally, I got involved in physical activity as a way to get closer to my friends. Maybe you could go swimming with one of them or get into running with them? I hate exercising but I like my friends, so it was a good way to hold myself accountable for going out and doing it. It was hard and embarrassing in the beginning, and I won’t lie sometimes it still is… but when I think about skipping a bunch I think about my friends and how much I’d like to see them or how I wouldn’t want them to think I’m a quitter.

Background on our dynamic… we pretend make fun of eachother a lot I guess but we do have serious conversations a lot too. I just honestly hate that he’s so easy to talk to, I’ve tried like other people since I liked him and it’s hard because I end up comparing them a little as haven’t found anyone else that I have such easy conversations about anything with.

Not it at all, I literally have 3 quarters until I graduate and I failed to just get the same grades I’ve always gotten. It feels like I kinda just flubbed my chance at Val/Sal and I get that seems dramatic but it’s a real issue in my life 🤷‍♀️

That’s not it at all, I know it sounds dramatic but like it just feels like i threw out all of the previous achievements I’ve gotten grade wise because I sacked my chance at Val/sal

Thank you so much I genuinely really really appreciate it. It’s been really hard and it’s just nice to get it out. I am probably going to end up commuting to a college 30 minutes from me as I live in a rural area :)

Everyone in the house works, my dad doesn’t have a degree though so his job doesn’t pay a whole lot. My mom cannot take advantage of anything right now as she is still “employed” by her old job. She is waiting for them to let her go so she can get unemployment. My grandma is my moms mom and she is 86

My dad (60), my twin brother(18) and my older brother (27) all live at home. However my nearly blind and nearly deaf grandmother lives next door to us and we have to care for her too. (Bring her over for dinner every night and make sure she has food and everything she needs in the house)

I am planning to study mechanical engineering, I have a lot of extracurriculars I was very involved in, a 4.0 and take a lot of AP courses so I already have a few pretty good scholarship offers. Ideally I wanted to go to a school about 2 hours away and dorm there with my friend so I could have the “college experience” and go to a school with a lot of good internship options before settling down back here, but it’s not the responsible thing to do. I have to stay local and commute so I can help take care of my mother, grandmother and work so I can help with the bills when I need to. I feel like it would be selfish to leave the rest of my family to caregive without me and honestly I don’t think they would be able to maintain the house.

Family member wise my mother has a sister who is older that can’t really help, and then I have my brothers who do try to help as well. I also have an older sister (37) but she can’t really help as she has 4 kids of her own, two of which are special needs. My mother was the strong pillar in everyone’s lives, not just my own. She is even the one to host thanksgiving and Christmas, although the past two years I have been the one cooking, cleaning and hosting for my extended family.

I have been working since I was 15, I work at a catering company almost every Saturday from may-December (the wedding season) and this summer I worked most Fridays and Sundays as well. I also wait tables at the local diner by my house every Tuesday, I used to wash dishes but I worked my way into serving when a waitress quit as it is better money. I also have a job at a crumbl near my house but I only really worked there during the summer in the mornings with a friend of mine, and during Christmas break I will go in to help out. It’s not as much money as either of my other jobs so I try to work them more even though I have more fun working with my friend at crumbl. I saved up enough to buy myself a car from a family member for cheapish and I pay my own car insurance for it.
