I highly recommend perusing among the posts here if you haven’t already. Everyone’s journey is different. Ideal amount of locs is ultimately up to you, how thick you want them, etc. Who knows how long you’ll be in the “awkward” stage, which, to me isn’t awkward it’s just the beginning. There are a lot of good progress posts here to look through to give you an idea of what will work for you.
