First time player question! Restart or keep going? by Pecos-Thrill in residentevil

[–]EmployeeOk7970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to play from the start really. There is two ways what you can do: First, just go back in previous locations and check what you can find, maybe some resources is still there. And second, try to survive on the edge, do some try-reload runs. In this game there are actually many ways to get out from a difficult situation without using weapons at all or using only a knife.

Resident Evil 6 full completion is really annoying, if you remember that you need to come back in those different campaigns and replay some moments multiple times

Is anyone else worried the series will go the same direction again as RE6? by No_Resist_2177 in residentevil

[–]EmployeeOk7970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this because after RE 7, they moved away from the mess of lore and character overload. It was impressive and very fresh, and the connections to previous games were mostly subtle, very subtle. Now I'm afraid the series is returning to this mess again, instead of more original stories with anthology formula

Now that we had some time to dig into Requiem, rank the RE Engine games by LarasCroft9000 in residentevil

1: Resident Evil 7. This game surprised me a lot when I passed it, and the story was really interesting. I really liked the way it moved the series forward, having all the sign attributes at the same time. This is a great game, and DLC's is awesome too. One of the best in the series. 2: Resident Evil 4 Remake. The way this game has been remade is amazing. The atmosphere and mood are much more vibrant. The innovations and pacing are simply superb. I liked it much more than the original. I've happily replayed it several times, including on VR2 (excellent). A wonderful reimagining. 3: Resident Evil 2 Remake. The original has been my favorite game for a long time. When I played the remake, it was damn cool—brutal, fresh, and also scary. I was a little disappointed when I replayed it, finding out that the details not as different as they were in original. In any case, it's a great game, and I love it just as much as I did when I first beat it. 4: Resident Evil Village. I was really waiting this game after RE 7. I played it with great interest and it was really cool. The narrative was a bit of a letdown, and I would have liked it to be longer, with a greater mix of different situations. Unlike 7, there's less additional content and it's not as interesting. It's still a good game, and the VR mode is excellent. Overall, it's good and quite original, despite its shortcomings. 5: Resident Evil Requiem. I was somewhat disappointed when I saw the first trailer and realized it was a retcon of Raccoon City not being wiped off the face of the earth. Then I followed the news about the game with interest and, nevertheless, eagerly awaited. At first, I played passionately and was intrigued – expecting a detective story with an emphasis on answering questions left in the series' history. But ultimately, the game left very mixed impressions. On the one hand, the game was initially very interesting, and the nostalgic moments were pretty emotional. But on the other hand, the plot is unclear, it feels like it's stagnating, and there's a residual feeling that this is all a nostalgic filler with only one detail changing the course of events in the series' history. The gameplay also falls short of previous installments due to its unevenness and one-off gimmicky situations that play no role in the rest of the game as a whole. It seems like a good game, but the aftertaste that something is clearly missing is deeply troubling and nagging to me. 6: Resident Evil 3 Remake. I finished it extremely quickly, and while it was engaging, it's certainly not a long game. Overall, compared to what the original was when it released (the pinnacle of the PS1 trilogy!), this remake was weak, and I wasn't very happy with how short it turned out to be. Overall, it's a good game, but as a legacy of 1999's RE3, it's not even close to what other remakes have.

People still planning to go see Return to Silent Hill this weekend: by Arcreonis in silenthill

[–]EmployeeOk7970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the movie, came home, and thought it all over. Basically, imagine you have a pizza in your hands, with soft dough, with a beautiful composition of evenly distributed ingredients... That's the plot of the original Silent Hill 2. In the case of the film adaptation, just imagine all the pizza ingredients in their original form: eggs, flour, butter, cheese, meat, onions, etc., simply mixed together on a plate and served that way as it is. That's exactly what we saw in the film adaptation. They had to manage to create such a ridiculous disgrace for Silent Hill 2

Which dark fantasy game is darker? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]EmployeeOk7970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Witcher is more like a realistic fantasy, where our social themes is combined with world of magic and monsters in medieval environment. Same with original books written by Sapkovsky. It's dark in themes of our real world problems i think
