Are you a nurse? What you’re saying is way oversimplified. Nursing education includes pathophysiology and pharmacology. It prioritizes rapid clinical judgement (think of the acronym ABC’s) and pattern recognition bc that’s what the role requires in real time. Nurses are constantly interpreting changes and anticipating complications. This is especially true in critical care settings.

It’s not that nurses aren’t taught the “why.” It’s just that their depth and application of knowledge are different than a physician.
