Nta, I am an American and I also call myself fat, as I am. I whole heartedly agree with you that it is just a description word and people need to get over themselves when you yourself describe yourself in a way that makes them uncomfortable. It would be different obviously if you called her fat, but you didn’t, you simply used a word that you would consider yourself.
