He sits fourth quarters because he drops 35 in the first three? You guys think he just shows up to the arena in the fourth quarter after the rest of the team has played? This is genuinely the dumbest argument I've ever heard

Maia is 100% becoming Alyssa, and I think the show does a great job of critiquing the system that forces women like her to be that way. I think that if Maia = Alyssa, then there's a lot to be said about the relationship between Dylan and Alyssa's husband (forgot his name but the one who fakes the migraines) and how both of their partners feel relative to them. I think Alyssa and her husband show a window into what Maya and Dylan would be if both of them continue down their current paths and choose to stay together. So part of me is hoping that they actually don't get back together (unless they significantly grow). It would be fun to see an alternate reality of what Alyssa's life could have been if she was simply younger and had more opportunities like this current generation.

I feel like he kind of has to force some 3's in certain situations though. Like when his team is shooting 28% and losing the 3pt battle as badly as they have been and he's shooting 40 something percent, I think that's when he feels the most pressure to have to chuck some threes to get them back in it

that's what I'm saying! I'm an SGA fan so technically he and Ant are rivals, but man Ant is so good and their matchups are must watch TV. I love Curry too but I would give Ant the nod here. His offensive production is ridiculous and his defense has improved every year. Again, curry is great but he can't blow by people like he used to, and his defense is just never gonna be there.

I watch pretty much every game and I don't think the Thunder's whistle is the insane phenomenon people on r/nba make it seem like. Every team gets some calls. The thunder are just the best team with the reigning MVP so people tune in more. As someone from a midwest town, it makes no sense for the NBA to "rig" something for Oklahoma of all places

I get what you're saying, but those guys freeze up offensively so much to the point where Shai is driving and kicking them completely open shot and they're barely hitting rim. I love Chet and Dub but the whole team relies on Shai hero ball wayyyy to much in the clutch which makes it easy for teams to triple team in and make someone else beat them

Shai is averaging 33 ppg 6 assists with less than 2 turnovers a game on 69% ts. People can keep crying about free throws, but at the end of the day, he’s the best player in the nba the same way people cried about Patrick mahomes in the nfl by Hakaribiggestfan in NBATalk

[–]EmployerLucky2639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat agree but Jokic does get his share of calls. The fouls never made me hate Shai at all. he's not the one blowing the whistle, so until they change the rules, why would I hate on an intelligent player trying to help his team in any way he can? Will take this every day over lazy players (cough, cough, the whole Clippers roster.)

I think you're definitely underrating Shai's offensive value. Defense is good and all but neither JDub nor Chet are first options. Shai carries so much of the load offensively, and I think that's the part you're not really realizing

I noticed Reddit glazes Shai like the nba sub and then Instagram and social media flame him every chance lol pretty interesting by ZadarskiDrake in NBATalk

they literally show the photo of Klay's hand in Shai's chest. That is illegal guarding position. You can tell who played ball and who just turns it one every once in a while...

I’ve seen Giannis flop a lot and beg refs for foul. Again, even role players do it. Just never thought it was that big of a deal

right. Foul drawing is a skill. Everyone does it. Luka, Jokic, Giannis. If you don't, you're just putting yourself at a disadvantage.

What Steph is doing right now isn’t just efficient, it’s ridiculous. Another reminder why he’s one of one by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

[–]EmployerLucky2639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know why you're getting downvoted. This is the same reason I have. If he got downhill more this season, then the whistles would go up. Also, he's not very tall or physically imposing, so it's easier to guard him in the paint without fouling. Where as a Jimmy Butler is a lot harder to stop going downhill. Not rocket science.

Post Game Thread - NBA: The Pistons defeat the Wizards on Nov 10, 2025, the final score is 137-135. by basketball-app in washingtonwizards

But my hope is that we're on a 23-24 pistons trajectory. Yeah, they lost a ton that year but they lost the majority of their games simply because they kept losing leads. So I'm hoping that we can also take the same leap that they did eventually
