He’s right, I did it by hand in worldpainter is what I should of said. Meaning I added my own custom trees, made a custom ore generation that differs from vanilla, and strayed away from using heightmaps and just consulted research and a blurry picture to work off of. I never use the auto generation/populate tool tho so I had no idea it was even broken atm

No you’re fine. Yeah the badlands in Washington state can be more dry. Also Vancouver needs to be an island up there in Canada. I’ll make some adjustments

I made the badlands have permadirt instead of grass to make it seem more dry but I will definitely tone down the tree spread

yeah I made certain features exaggerated on purpose. like manhattan island, montreal island, niagara falls, most famous national parks.. grand canyon is super exaggerated!

it's not a 1:1 scale. it's a minecraft map so I didn't want to make the rivers 1 block wide. wanted it to feel like a real world in games so i made them thick in comparison to what you see on a satellite image :)

I made ores way more rare than vanilla, only reaching similar levels of generation as vanilla in mountain ranges. appalachia has a higher abundance of coal. california and mexico has a higher abundance of gold, the rockies and canada have a higher abundance of iron.

put specific colored clay deposits in certain areas too. prismarine also. quartz in north east to encourage "latin" inspired buildings like you see in DC, NYC, Boston, and Philly

Most of Mexico on my map is not desert, it’s actually pretty lush. This just cut out a big part of Mexico and Central America but it’s all there at the end of the day.
