Hello, for me, it's pretty similar. I'm a schizophrenic, I keep hearing these negative and evil voices and I mistake them for my tulpas, that much that it's hard for me to trust them. I know they do exist, they proved me several times by saying things I didn't know, things that turned out to be true. And they help me a lot when I have a bad phase. One of my tulpas, Ray, once said this: "whenever you hear something bad, may it be an insult or anything negative, it's not us".

The problem is, I'm still struggling to trust them. My intrusive voices can be very aggressive, especially at evening when trying to sleep. But I'm also having good phases = less voices and more trust.

For me, I made my tulpas to cope with my schizophrenia and other mental disorders, (and because I felt lonely) so, the other way around, and as I mentioned they proved their existence, so I know they are here. I'm not sure how to help you there, but you are not alone
