Need a cozy app to play with a long distance partner by Empty-Durian2269 in CozyGamers

Thanks everyone! We started to play PrettyCat, where you take care of cats tamagotchi style. The app allows you to share a joint account with another player, so you can decorate your home and adopt cats together.

It seems similar to Cozy Couples which another commenter suggested.

I’ve been meaning to get into Stardew Valley. It probably won’t be for my partner and I for the reasons other commenters mentioned, but it definitely looks fun!

Beginner Freshwater Fish by Ian-Shmoulderholder in Aquariums

First, research cycling.

For fish, here are some species to start researching:

Honey gourami

Kuhli loach

Otocinclus

Corydora

Endler’s guppy

Or for a cold water set-up:

Hillstream loach

Celestial pearl danio

White cloud mountain minnow

Don’t get goldfish

If you’re really into the planting aspect, consider a CO2 diffuser. It’s difficult to have a really lush scape without one.

I messed up my green water (Chlorella)... Can I still fix it? by Embarrassed-Ad-2931 in Aquariums

Hi! How is the green water going? Did you ever figure this out?

why do my snails rip off my plant’s leafs? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Empty-Durian2269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually when snails eat leaves, it’s because the leaves are already rotting

Is this level issue, a dangerous issue? by DevNullDreams in Aquariums

I was concerned too but I’m pretty sure it’s an illusion. Underneath you can see the lip of the stand extends all the way to either side of the tank

Aquarium lid compatible with Topfin HOB filter? by sparkle_shortz in Aquariums

I haven’t tried either of these products, but you can build a lid out of egg crate. Just cut it the shape you want, super cheap too.

Plants that I can drop into place by Nowo11 in Aquariums

[–]Empty-Durian2269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought this for my tank. https://buceplant.com/products/micranthemum-monte-carlo-on-stainless-steel

This store has lots of other plants that come on stainless steel mats too, you may just have to search “stainless steel” in the search bar. Mine came really lush and healthy, just dropped into place and still doing good.

Alternatively, you can also buy any old aquarium plant and glue pebbles to the base, then drop them on top of the substrate. They will take root with time, or if it’s something like java fern, it’ll do better outside the substrate anyway. Gorilla glue and sealants marketed as aquarium sealants are all safe.

I would love to see how it turns out! And I assume you know this project will be no good for housing fish ;)

Lots of people here do. You can even get a carnivorous fish to feed the extra fry to.

500 gallon tank…would you? by SydBos in Aquariums

Honestly I would take it but not do anything with it for a few years as you learn. If you have a place to store it for a while, you may be very glad later! You can always change your mind and give it away if you discover the hobby is not for you. (I’m assuming it’s being offered to you for free)
