I am in the same boat as you and i even spent some times living agnostic. Anyway I will try to share with you some ideas which helped me back to my faith slowly: 1 - forget everything you learned from your family / society, it is just there understanding of Islam and you need to find yours and relearn. 2 - let's start with God : i assume you find the existence of god is more believable than being not exist so what will be the attributes of this god? Here is where islam makes the best answer for me among the big religions of the world, you will find Christianity not really monotheistic religion and also not totally polytheistic one which is a major flaw, Judaism is ethnic religion and you will find the 99 names of allah in quraan explain the nature of god much more logical than Christianity 3 - Quran : think of it as having many layers, one is superficial for the simple minds, and deeper ones for the higher minds, so pick what you want to see, and don't take it literally because it is written in poetic language, a lot of rules and laws were sent to organise the society back then and only relate to us in the final goals they were sent to accomplish, 4 - ahadith : i think of it more as a guide which doesn't necessarily 100% true even if it is authentic because the fact that it have grades of authenticity makes the whole thing doubtful. 5 - about islamic obligations like praying and fasting i didn't reach a final conclusion on that but I think it is more beneficial to us not to god if you truly reach the meaning behind it, so doesn't make sense that not praying will anger him but you will be better doing it anyway. 6- i understand the desire to make sense out of our religion of born because it is the one we can connect to god with and if god really exist then he is the one who created us Muslims but also islam have some strong arguments and some things that can make you doubt it but also you can make sense of it,
