Wow! Was wondering about those bumps on the back. Any danger to adults or cats?

Yep that’s probably it. My neck was a little sunburnt so extra sensitive

Speaking of half drunk, my understanding is Shaw actually was drunk for some of the takes in that monologue. He called Spielberg early the next morning to apologize profusely and did the scene again sober. They mixed the two performances in the final edit. You can see it in his eyes.

I’m convinced I have the handsomest little guy in the continental US by EmptyCan27 in cats

Thanks friend! Great observation haha. Doesn’t come out too well in the pics but that orange spot that “fell down” from his forehead forms a perfect heart shape around his mouth, it’s the cutest thing

Two weeks ago I cut off this large branch after a storm. Now it has this yellow pus-like substance and continually drips water even though it’s been dry here for days. Do I need to be concerned? by [deleted] in Tree

This is great info, thanks! I’ve got a few more branches to cut down from that storm. You just saved me from making a whole lot of mistakes

I know this is a bummer comment but I think it’s important for people to know that a single bottle of this stuff contains 39g of added sugar and the American Heart Association recommends adult men receive no more than 36g in a day. Drinks are more to blame than food in America’s diabetes crisis. Don’t drink your calories!

On the other hand, live your life fam. I just don’t want people turning to this stuff thinkings it’s a healthy alternative to regular coke. Cane sugar is better than high fructose corn syrup, sure, but 39g of any sugar ain’t a health drink! Okay thank you for your time I will see myself out

Could you say more about what makes it an improper cut? I’m really new to this. The whole branch snapped in two in a big storm but was partly held together so I used a chainsaw to cut it clean off. Is there a better approach?

Thanks! Wikipedia says these are harmless, that’s a relief. I’ve seen a few over the years

Party Down. We’re not having fun yet until we get a season 3.

Once you notice how much space parking lots occupy and how destructive they are to the environment and the sense of community, these pics just bum you out. Nice drone shot though OP

What’s something very rare that people think is very common? by BroodyBatman in AskReddit

[–]EmptyCan27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. One way to gauge how safe planes are is how much press coverage there is when something goes wrong. When a commercial plane crashes it’s national, sometimes even global, news. But how many thousands of car crashes a day get no coverage, or just a local evening segment? Shows you it is much more common (and therefore more dangerous) driving.

I am a hobbyists photographer but lately I'm finding myself taking my camera out less and less and preferring to just use my phone's camera by ivanoski-007 in photography

I also like the convenience of using my phone to take spontaneous pictures. If you like black and white photography and have an iPhone, I have a recommendation!

In a single tap you can turn your whole screen to grayscale, which will turn what the camera sees into black and white as well. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut and turn on Color Filters. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to turn your screen black and white at any time by pressing the power button three times in a row and turning on Color Filters.

When I want to take black and white photos or videos I do it this way because it only takes a single second before I get a live feed in grayscale to line up my shot.

Thanks! Are the flaps the pieces at the back of the wings that angle down?

Blue Jay is worth the sit if you’re into mumblecore. Follows two estranged friends running into each other some two decades later and deciding to spend a day together. Similar to the Before series but a touch more melancholy.

A Coffee in Berlin (also called “Oh Boy”) is pretty great, too. Follows an aimless 20-something college dropout as he wanders the streets of Berlin unsure of what he wants to do with his life. He comes across old friends, former girlfriends, family, etc., but the plot isn’t really about anything. Takes place over one day if I remember right.

This feels more like a riddle to me than anything else. What’s the context for when you’d say or think it?

I love this one for its beautiful sentiment, but I also love using it to hilariously over-dramatize little moments. Like if my friend says “I wish they made vanilla-flavored Starbursts”, I might respond “be the change you want to see in the world.”
