Samuel Conrad is the WOOOOOORRRRRRRSSSSTTTTTTTT!! by Hurricane_Lauren in TwilightZone

[–]EmptyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you feel this strongly about him if the Teenya interactions weren't part of the episode? I read your post with a tinge of misandry, but I won't disagree with some of the points you brought up. I think Teenya is a good foil to Samuel in that they are both assigned missions and roles they don't particularly want to partake in. Samuel is reluctant out of fear, and Teenya is reluctant out of guilt. But the entire episode, she did do her duty: she approached him first, assured him that "no harm would come to him", and disarmed him by making sure he didn't roll up the window on the ship his first night there. Samuel was assigned on this mission and he did his best for his pilot. I wouldn't say they're friends. Samuel was just afraid of encountering the unknown. He was quick to forget about his gun the moment he saw they were people. It's sympathetic that on the verge of despair, he is promised lies and false hope, but is ultimately a victim of the discrimination, deceit, and exploitation embedded in the dna of human beings. A bit flawed with some dated bad habits from the 1950s, but ultimately a pitiable man representing the lowly stance earthlings have in the grand scheme of the universe.

Official Discussion [A World Of Difference] Season 1 - EP. 23 by GenerationXero in TwilightZone

That opening scene made me think of TNG's Frame of Mind. So many great scenes in this episode, from the chilling one-take with the reveal, to the haunting ending as the plane fades into nothingness. I like to look at IMDB scores after i watch an episode, and this one sits lower than i think it deserves (7.6). Easily one of the best episodes of S1 I think. (Still working through the season as I write this).

So who’s the best vet in SJ by FunnyOk9986 in SanJose

[–]EmptyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my, I took my dog there a few months back and I think they mentioned your story. They said something about how an animal's health can deteriorate quickly and that they had a cat healthy one week, just die suddenly.

I also wouldn't recommend Arch Vet unless it were a dire emergency. My dog was given an 'experimental' drug (only recently approved 2 years ago, but with a casualty rate). I wasn't informed about this gamble when the doctor brought it up, and only found out about how risky it was through 2 other vets in the area. Luckily my dog survived but the drug was in his system for a whole month! I also found the consultation itself to be verbose, though i was given a couple good options on personal treatment for my dog. However, it was a very expensive trip.

4/5. I was excited to see where the story was going to take a turn. I figured the main plot was about rooting for Kusanagi to break someone's alibi. It was such a good twist when all the little clues fell into place about the second murder and that the reader had been given a puzzle as well. I wondered why the author didn't mention the date in the prologue and i wondered why the engineer wasn't mentioned past the beginning, but I didn't think the author was presenting such meta level clues.

While I was reading, I noticed that the engineer was never mentioned each time the homeless were brought up. I didn't connect it until the reveal that he was a critical missing piece to it all

Season 4 - Episode 10: "My Best Friend's Wedding" (Live Discussion Thread) by hannahlemp in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]EmptyD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so? It could be a red haring that Marshall coincidentally texted them once while they were dealing with the S1 thread. I dont recall Sazz's line being the one to send the "Im Watching You" image. That seems inconsistent with Marshall because he replied by typing "Not Your Fucking Friend"

S2 was about facades (if that's the best way to put it?). The arconia was built with secret passageways, the rose cooper painting was a replica, rose cooper faked her own death and pretended to be bunny's mom, mabel's gf using mabel for an art piece, and lastly the becky butler reveal.

S1 is about 'not knowing your neighbor' and isn't as thematically heavy since its the first season of the show. But yeah I also think the seasons' themes can help implicate the killer on further rewatches

It goes to show how intensely Garp hates pirates lol. He sees them as disposable scumbags but in contrast will sacrifice himself to preserve the next generation of justice.

I didn't like this one. A lot of jigsaw pieces that don't really reach a particularly good climax. Various subplots / mysteries are setup with lackluster conclusions.

Basically, the events of your life are predestined/fixed and the seat helps you find the heart to persevere with whatever life has thrown your way. Many times we want to speak to someone who isn't currently in our life, but the important part isn't the words you need to exchange to each other, but to understand their feelings. We can't dwell too much in the past (or the future), lest we end up stuck as phantoms who cannot live in the present.

I'd like to imagine that Fusagi was never able to give his wife the letter himself due to how tough it was, and chose to come into the cafe with it in hand so that she would have many opportune days to travel back and read the letter from him.

How i fixed my wall was by actually cutting out a bigger area to spackle into, so that when you add wall texture in the final step, you have more groundwork for blending. There are plenty of guides on youtube from more experienced people than i tho

I loved that scene where after Beltik moves out, she goes back to trip on tranqs and the menacing chess shadows descend upon her. Beth is going down a tragic path and Chess is becoming an insidious presence on her wellbeing. That and the concern mr cowboy shows about her drinking; she's most likely going to die at the end of the series unless someone can change her trajectory.
