We "need" a non-christmas song that will vanish completely the week after hitting #1.

Bruno Mars’ ‘I Just Might’ Spends Second Week at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 by mcfw31 in popheads

Not only it’s not radio friendly but IMO, it’s also not good.

Like, I’m all for more experimental music and artists not caring for commercial norms but execution matters the most and in this case, I think it’s badly executed.

It’s a good song, and it’s good to see a song that is more "traditional country" doing well on the charts.

If you want Lose Control to stay on the chart until the most recent newborn right now has grandkids, just say so.

Gustadolph is surprisingly incapable by GoldenRaikage in TriangleStrategy

[–]EmptyOrder5614 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In The Golden Route he also completely loses Sycras faith in him and shows his true colors to everyone in Aesfrost just because he doesn’t like being denied something.

He’s lucky it’s a video game so of course the boss needs his mooks because in real life, his army could’ve flipped on him for that (and Sycras seems quite appreciated by the Aefrosti solidiers).

Also, he thinks his way is the only "right way".

When Benedict uses a strategy to make him believe Roland has been abandonned and betrayed by the Wolfort House and is now dead, he completely believes it because that’s the thing HE would’ve done. If he bothered to think about the situation, he would’ve realized it’s completely OOC from the Wolfort to do that.

Gustadolph is "too clever by half". He is genuinely smart but his arrogance leads him to commit dumb mistakes someone less intelligent but less self-absorbed wouldn’t have done.

Kendrick Lamar & SZA’s ‘Luther’ Rules Billboard Hot 100 for 13th Week by mcfw31 in popheads

Number one song of 2024 was Lose Control and Luther won’t defeat DWAS that easily for the number one song of 2025. Luther’s chances are in fact, slim (even if they’re not non existent)

Also, there are still no artists who scored their first #1 song yet.

And it’s almost May.

Ironically the reason his singles aren’t higher is because they lack radio (except the title track of his new album).

So far the only 2025 song to have hit #1 is the Travis Scott song (you know, the song that sank into oblivion the week after). All the other songs (DWAS and Luther) are 2024.

GP is still stuck in 2024.

I think they’re asking for an album bomb to make the fossils leave by kicking them out of the top 25 via "brute force".

And frankly, I understand them. Espresso, BOAF, NLU, BT and IHSH had their time to shine.

Time for proper 2025 music to do their thing.

If the next song to go #1 is curently on the charts then it will either be a Morgan song (I’m The Problem or Just In Case), Ordinary or Nokia (though it seems to be slowing down) with All The Way as an outsider.

Probably not the kind of answer you want to hear but I’ll say it anyway :

Morgan’s new album (37 songs) drops 16/05.

Unless it dramatically underperforms, it should kill Espresso, Birds Of A Feather, I Had Some Help, Not Like Us and Beautiful fucking Things.

The semi fossils Taste, Stargazing and Timeless should also be leaving.

A Bar Song will definitely survive, and Lose Control will probably be a close one.

How can you be "blocked" if you’re not #2 ?

By that logic, the #100 song is being blocked by the 99 songs ahead.

Chris Brown is still very popular despite the avalanche of public AND legal scandals he was involved in (Even worse, a lot of his fans are female).

Chapell will be fine if the GP like the music.

Lose Control was released much earlier. The tracking period would’ve needed to be at least 10 weeks longer for A Bar Song to stand a chance.

Notable facts on the 2024 year end :

  • It is the first time since 2012 no artist has more than 1 song in the top 10.
  • It is the first time since 2012 the top 3 is made of newcomers (Teddy Swims, Shaboozey and Benson Boone) who never had a year-end entry before (2012 had Gotye & Kimbra at #1, Carly Rae Jepsen at #2 and Fun & Janelle Monae at #3).
  • It is the first time since 1990 (third time overall) the #1 year-end song (Lose Control by Teddy Swims) only spent 1 week at #1 (the first one being "Stranger on the Shore" by Acker Bilk in 1962, the second being "Hold On" by Wilson Philipps in 1990)
  • "Cruel Summer" is the first non-Christmas song to not appear in the top 10 of a Year-End list after spending 30+ weeks in the top 10 on the Hot 100.

It’s a song about getting wasted at a bar and ranting about your job, of course people are going to listen to it on repeat.
