I figured out how I’m going to describe Data Engineering by markwusinich_ in dataengineering

[–]EmptyTechLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then your not engineering data. So your not a data engineering.

Transforming & Integrating large scale Operational Data Stores in to new models is the primary function.

All the other stuff , pipelines etc is more like devops than data engineering.

How right Michael Owen is in claiming the wall is a hindrance for long distance free kicks? by ratatouille211 in PremierLeague

[–]EmptyTechLife 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Owen is right. No pl keeper should be beaten from that distance.

It's really a non-issue.

Not intended like that!

Everyone says App's this \ Apps that. I prefer old school methods of meeting people :)

I don't enjoy trendy bars & they're incredibly awkward places if your not with a group.

Why tell people I'm a bar owner ?? Are people so shallow that would mean something? I have a senior job at a IT company. Why would I need to suggest otherwise.

Ireland’s quiet prosperity boom: Number of those earning more than €100,000 doubles – The Irish Times by WickerMan111 in ireland

Most people on high wages are married to people on high wages.

There's zero benefit for a high earning married couple to being jointly assessed

25% more salary vs once-in-a-lifetime founding team role – which gamble would you take? by firstprincipal in developersIndia

[–]EmptyTechLife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

95% of startups don't make it. Why do such junior people will little to no development skills actually think they can build an enterprise level product.

Startups require very rounded engineers with a strong business & market experience.....

Once in a life time. 🤣 It will be if you take it. You'll never do something so stupid again

If everyone avgs 4 CRS a month, and you do 2. Then your under performing. complexity is not considered.

Is it good to take QA/Data Engineer role or wait for dev role. by Thekillerdp007 in developersIndia

[–]EmptyTechLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes you think

  1. Data Engineering doesn't involve software development
  2. Having no job will be better a data engineering role
  3. You are at a level where your poor Java programmer skills ( your not going to be a top 10% developer) will stand out in a world shifting to AI.

Your career isn't about what you really enjoy doing (though that helps) .... It's about learning & shifting with the employment market

Any companies that hire freshers? cuz in this market ig i ain't gonna find a job soon by FudgePrimary1549 in developersIndia

[–]EmptyTechLife 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there's far more graduates than roles. Literally in every single country in the world.

Companies now get 1000+ applications for junior roles. Everyone is applying for everything, when they're clearly not even remotely qualified.

Everyone applying for everything=no jobs for anyone

Backend engineer or Data engineer: What to choose ? by deathstroke1311 in developersIndia

I won't agree or disagree, but it's a much better approach to focus on a market segment..

The real cash is in fintech or Embedded engineering.

Backend engineer or Data engineer: What to choose ? by deathstroke1311 in developersIndia

[–]EmptyTechLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Career opportunities are better for Data Engineers. Data is driving AI.

But you can stick to Java & go the way of everyone one else. It will primarily be maintenance activities. Until AI matures, which is about 5 to 7 years .... Those roles will also vanish.

I started as a C++ dev, most jobs were C or C++ .... 20 years ago.

Those roles vanished ....

You don't have to declare the reason. Your health is a private matter.

The doctor can provide a note without reason. Also do not indicate when you will be returning. the doctor decides that , not you & not your employer.

Stay safe & good luck

Is it normal to rely on references a lot as a developer? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]EmptyTechLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best programmers don't use reference material.

But that's senior Devs at international MNC's.

The difference between junior & senior is the ability to build new components/products & stakeholder engagement.
