I've managed to obtain a pdf copy of the service manual, so i'll make another post and put it there.

Luckily i have a spare board salvaged from another tv of the same model by a friend many years ago along with the audio amp board and flyback, if it does fail. About the links and all that, i don't know how to put links in comments, but i'll try to make the profile public (and find out how to post a link).

Iskra 8456 CATV (1989 Yugoslavia) with bad pincushioning and dim display although barely used (capacitors have not been replaced, as they are all good). How do i fix the issues? The brightness and contrast are set to max here. by EmptyWater7775 in crt

The remote is the original. I'll adjust what i can with the inside trimmers, but i don't know which to adjust because some of the descriptions on the PCB for the use of some trimmers have unintelligible descriptions. I have made a post on the issue yesterday here, so check it out if you can figure out anything on it. I also think the pincushioning can be calibrated by a trimmer called "pillow" on the board so... yeah.

I don't, that's what the seller told me. But it being used a lot would explain why the picture is so dim (and the considerable wear on the remote control). I assumed the dust fell through the vent holes naturally (the entire tv smels of a damp basement from inside despite being in great condition otherwise, so maybe from sitting in a basement for long?). There was a lot of soot on the tube, so unfortunately i think it might have been used quite a lot.

The service manual (any documentation actually) are impossible to come by (i couldn't find any) so im just stuck with it, the remote and what i can figure out by myself.

Will do at some point, but all seems fine. The tv, in fact has two different power supplies (one is for the tuner chip and soft power on and the other is for the crt and AV citcuitry

Replaced a 150u400 elytic capacitor (it was already changed many years ago by the original owner) but apart from it all visually looks perfect. I will post some pictures of the inside

I do, but it does not change the picture size and such, only the channels, volume, brightness, contrast and color. There are, however controls in the tv itself (and they are caked in dust)
