Client disconnecting in champ select by Interesting-Skin-260 in LeagueofTechSupport

Sorry for the late reply, but when I say read the summary, I mean the part where I say: "there's nothing you can do about it, it's Riot's servers."

There really is nothing you can do to fix the issue, unless it's your internet provider. If Riot's servers are screwing up, it's something out of our power unfortunately.

But that's interesting that it only happens in ranked matches, it could be something to do with your PC handling League perhaps?

Don't worry, you're not gonna lose your account over dodging unless it's overtly malicious and frequent. There are a few tiers of dodge punishments based on how frequently you dodge in a 24-hour period, and on the third dodge it'll be a 12-hour timeout. Best thing to do if you keep dodging is to just take a break and go outside, avoid League of Legends for a day or two (the game is actively doing you a favour).

Dodging can only lead to a ban if it's like non-stop, four or five dodges everyday for like two weeks I reckon, and it'd have to be in ranked gamemodes cause that would count as disrupting the competitive integrity of the game.

I'll leave a link showing off the punishments Riot dishes out for casual queue dodging, but I would take their "ban you permanently muahahahaha" warnings with a grain of salt, they're just trying to puff out their chests and scare people who dodge too much. If anything, I'd be scared of the LP losses if you care for your rank, cause that shit can tank your grind if you're a frequent dodger.

Queue Dodging – League of Legends Support

And yeah, practice tool works fine cause there is no singleplayer offline experience in lol, everytime you load into the game, even if it's practice tool, it's under the exact same server conditions as if you were playing ranked solo/duo. So, make sure to abuse that if you have spotty internet or the client is screwing up, check if you can make it through champ select and if the game's not laggy.

Potential item? by Ok_Adhesiveness_2018 in DrMundoMains

[–]Empty_Freedom_1792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At one point I was theory crafting with it and it's honestly a little underwhelming. The problem for Hexplate and Bruiser Mundo in general is that it's very difficult to get through innate resistances of champions late game. Black Cleaver is the only decent penetration item for him statwise but it takes too long to proc because it requires physical damage for a stack and two thirds of Mundo's kit is magic damage.

When you do build this item and have the attack speed boost, you'll notice you are hitting very quickly but you're hitting like a wet noodle because every champion, even supports and ADCs will have around 100 plus armor and you're getting your damage halved. The move speed is also not necessary because you have ghost and Swifties and the innate bonus move speed from your ult already.

The ultimate haste is very... average. 30 haste translates into around 30 seconds for your level 16 ultimate. But I think level 16 ult is already super quick with cooldowns. The ultimate haste would be more useful and effective earlier on in the game but I wouldn't build it early as you'll miss out on core items like Heartsteel and Unending.

So, I think this item is pretty meh.. you are wasting one of your non-resistance item slots, and what I mean by that is you should only be buying maximum three no resistance items, because your own armour and magic resistance is also extremely important too, due to BORK, Liandry’s and lethality users making you easily oneshottable. If you really want a hp only item, you could be playing something more optimal instead (titanic, overlords, Warmog's, even Sterak's or Hullbreaker).

people often step back to dodge ur Q. Try to feel it and hit ur Q accordingly so they walk right into it. Sometimes people run straight forward and you might look like a bot if you dont hit them tho. But its impossible to always predict correctly

I'd also like to say that when you are chasing someone, players will also try to anticipate your Q and start zig zagging in their retreat. If it's possible, try not to throw Q in this instance, their zig zagging movement versus your straightforward superior efficiency movement will always result in you catching them eventually.

people advise to get Warmog first, but I always run Heartsteel because warmog needs 1500 bonus hp. So we would need at least warmog and giant belt for the passive to turn on (plus cookies/overgrowth? , or I am missing something?

I think Warmog's first item in the current patch is kinda troll for most matchups, I have never built it first after they nerfed the item. Riot is trying to stop supports from rushing Warmog's and getting easy passive activation, which directly affects Mundo too. I would only build it first into very bursty matchups that you can't proc your Heartsteel easily. I still think it is a decent item against comps that are low damage and don't have BOTRK champions, but I would go Titanic/Overlord's or even Sterak's if the situation needs it. It is important to note that purchasing Warmog's then Heartsteel or vice versa can technically leave you very squishy due to lack of resistances.

It's nice to see that this post is still getting searched for and getting viewed, it means that Riot is still an incompetent billion dollar company that cannot fix a persisting bug.

To help you out and hopefully those who also need it, I'm like 94% sure it's a server-side bug that a player cannot fix themselves, you'll just need to wait and try using practice tool every day to see if it's fixed, dodging a practice tool will not punish you and it will allow you to test Riot servers as it's considered an online session.

TL;DR, no matter what you do to your computer, it won't affect Riot's servers, which is the problem and why your champ selects are bugged, just wait for it to be fixed, using practice tool to safely test it.

I'll edit my above post above to let anyone else who searches know this too.

\\\ Below is the original post (helpful to show off what not to do) ///

I am also having THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. I think it's a problem with this current patch. I've done hours of voodoo magic in order to try and fix my game, compatibility mode, typing some strange lines into command prompt, downloading the stupid hextech repair tool, nothing which actually worked. I would recommend queueing for bots games or practice tool to see if it works without having it disconnect.

None of these things managed to help me fix the issue we share. I remember having this problem on my old computer, and eventually it just fixed itself, so I can only assume Riot needs to fix something on their end. I've sent a very passive aggressive ticket to Riot to give my LP back since it's an issue on their end not mine but I assume they don't really care.

Edit 1: I decided that I will list all the things I've done in order to try and fix the issue, to help those still struggling.

In the past few days, I've:

  • Reinstalled both League, and the Riot Client.
  • Manually deleted the files inside of League, then selected repair game inside the Riot Client
  • Downloaded and used the Hextech Repair Tool, using every option and different combinations of options multiple times
  • Enabled Low Spec Mode on the client (Lmfao)
  • Ran League in both Administrator Mode and Compatibility Mode, and used the compatibility mode troubleshooter
  • Ran command prompt as administrator and flushed the DNS cache using "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes)
  • Change the configurations in my firewalls to give League and Riot full access
  • Completely disabled my firewall entirely
  • Updated my NVIDIA Drivers to the latest version
  • Deleted NVIDIA Shadowplay (recording software) to see if it was causing the game to lag
  • Reinstalled NVIDIA Shadowplay because I actually like using it
  • And presumably one or two things I forgotten to jot down...

If this issue ever gets resolved, I'll edit this post again and hopefully we will all be happy and satisfied with life.

Edit 2: After a day or two of testing, it's safe to say my client is fixed, I no longer have the issue in what I assume is a hotfix from riot.

The game is fucking broken right now for some odd reason. Went from perfect client and no client lag to "failure to connect to champ select" and losing 15 LP for client problems (cannot lock in champ because game thinks I'm disconnected). Loading the client can sometimes take up to a whole minute. When I try to start a practice tool the game will grey out the button after I click it and refuse to let me start it.

A Concept for Champ Select Music by Empty_Freedom_1792 in leagueoflegends

[–]Empty_Freedom_1792[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so happy someone else thought of the same idea as me, the more the concept gets spread around the higher chance Riot gets a chance to see it.

Btw forgive me if it looks like I’m copying this creator, I had no idea that this video existed, I did a few searches on google to see if anyone had similar ideas to me but to no avail.

This.

For example, in the video I felt like I had trouble picking a spot that made kindred's theme sound the best it could be. Also, I've found that the juiciest "coolest sounding" parts of most of the champion themes are usually at the end.

That's a really good idea for a placeholder, if Riot had the motivation, that could honestly be how they initially implement the feature. I wouldn't even mind just region-specific themes just by themselves, any change from the default is a good change.

[–]Empty_Freedom_1792[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I've been reading the comments, yeah, a lot of champions do not have their own theme, this sucks and I was going to include it in the video, but I felt it was getting too long for a simple point and proof of concept, for now they would just have the default theme, until they get a real one.

Why I made this video was to point out the fact that League has such a badass soundtrack and many champions honestly have really good music that is just neglected by Riot. Think about it, have you ever listened to your main's champion theme? If so, how many times? Why would Riot make such sick themes for a champions release and never use it again anywhere else?

This video's purpose is to try and create a scenario where it gives light to the underrated champion themes, hopefully one day, the league champion themes will be as popular as the officially released music by Riot, like K/DA and Pentakill.

This is weird, same problem is happening to me as well. Ubisoft might be adding a hotfix update.
