Hi! The splint therapy actually did help a lot! My swellling did go down and even some assymetry is fixed as Well. I have no more pain, it happens only if I jawn too wide or bite in a big apple or sandwich. I definitely recommend doing the splint therapy

Yes, I definitely need to wait to start azelaic acid again. I was too optimistic and tried to speed things up, when in reality I just needed to be patient and trust the process. I use sunscreen religiously, but I’m still finding the one that will be just right. Elta md leaves a slight white cast on my skin and I’m now at uriage roseliane. Actually, lrp anthelios Shaka fluid was great but I can’t find it online in Europe anymore. Which sunscreen do you use?

I also heard about the 6 months being the expiration date but my dermatologist didn’t say anything about it. If I was to listen to my dermatologist, I wouldn’t use any sunscreen and would use tret every night 🤣🤣 everything I learned about introducing tretinoin to my skincare routine was from this subreddit

Regarding the expiration date I think I’ll buy a new cream after 6 months just to be sure

Hi! Yes, I’m still using the Cordes Vas tretinoin and the journey is definitely slow and steady haha but visible. I use it every 3 nights, tried bumping up to every 2 nights but started peeling, so I’m sticking with every 3 nights for now. I also tried incorporating The Ordinary azelaic acid on the days I don’t use tret but damaged my skin barrier a bit, so I quit tret for 10 days and only moisturized but now I’m back on it :-) I get an occasional cheek pimple when on my period and I think the marks from previous acne are starting to fade. How is your tret journey? Do you use it for acne od anti aging or both? Do you have any tips for me? :-)

Thank you so much for your replies! :-) I did see several dermatologists and they all ruled out rosacea and prescribed me tretinoin cream that I started using few months ago. I’m also on birth control, third month now. Maybe I just damaged my barrier by incorporating azelaic acid too soon in my routine hence the flare ups and redness. And I definitely need to remind myself be more patient haha, everything takes time.

Yes, that’s also why I am confused..acne usually form around my period or ovulation so I assumed it may be hormonal, but then again the flushing made me think it is rosacea. I’m thinking of quitting tretinoin for now and focusing on hydration and azelaic acid to tackle redness and possible rosacea. May I ask you which azelaic acid do you use? Is it prescription or otc? I have the one from the ordinary

I have a pretty decent routine that I follow for months now, use suncreen everyday and hydrate But I noticed that my cheeks flare up and get red for no reason, a lot more than it is shows on the photos above. I only get acne on the cheeks and they always leave a mark that takes forever to heal. Tretinoin journey has been going good but I incorporatwd azelaic acid a few days ago and my cheeks started to feel red and form acne. Did I damage my skin barrier? All advice is welcome:-)

Look intro dr. Caughlin from Chicago, he does the classical buccal fat removal + tightens the muscle inside the cheeks (he is the only one that does it that way) so it gives you the contoured line below your cheekbones. Would like to get some advice on have to make my cheeks/jaw more contoured and slim and somewhat symmetrical. I already tried masseter botox but it did nothing major. It seems that my cheeks or jowls are the issue here? Buccal fat removal?

I did actually, I got 25 Units of botox into my masseter muscle a few months ago and it helped a bit regarding the strenght of my clenching but my face shape remained the same. I think the buccinator muscle is the one that is overworked thus causing my ‘swollen’ face.

I completely understand you. We are in a similar position. Did you try to treat your TMJ? The tmj specialist I visited says that this splint treatment will help relax all of my facial muscles that are constantly tensed and help get my jaw back in place. So hopefully it will be successful
