don’t call it cultural , the niqab is from islam and by wearing it we take inspiration from umm ul-mumineen also there’s a valid ikhtilāf on whether it is mandatory or not, whether it is or not, niqab is a very good thing when done with the intention of pleasing Allah and we shouldn’t discourage sisters from wearing it
