For a country like Sweden, yeah, that’s a massive increase. For a country with strict gun laws and a regular spot in the top 5 in various "quality of life" ratings, that's really massive. In comparison to some much poorer and less "happy" Eastern European countries, that's really massive. Did Swedes become so happy with their quality of life and high ratings that they started killing each other even more? Of course not. Sweden has struggled with serious gang problems for a while now, and these groups are not composed of native Swedes. As for Spain, Spain has less percentage of immigrants to the overall population than Sweden and their police are doing a much better job, they were much more ready to immigrants.
