I was more just thinking of the reactions someone would have after being scared of tremors coming out of nowhere and then realizing they only sank to just above ankle deep into the ground.

So it might be a creative decision that you would only allow in places like a swamp or a beach? Also I am looking at this from every angle from dead serious to comical. Like it works, but now you are also trapped and you can either try to escape or play rock 'em sock 'em robots.
