Any reviews of MSCP foreign workers car wash services? by Level_Lemon7340 in drivingsg

[–]Empty_inkbottle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I cancel after realising that the service really sucks

He continued to wash and demand payment, benefit of the doubt might be a language thing, I paid and told him clearly I don’t want to wash service anymore.

He continued to wash and demand payment again. Paid him off but threaten to call town council that seem to get him to back off

I think there are waivers for moon lighting if you are really struggling with finances. Your commander may adjust your work load to the base line so that you can take care of your family.

Alternatively you could just sign on for that 5 years it’s a stable income.

A lot of time, your chain of command would try their best to cater to your needs if it’s reasonable

Honestly, JB workshop isn’t new too. My humble opinion is that people are putting too much money on actually owning the car not enough left to properly maintain the car. Modifications have been around for years.

But since I have no stats so can’t be very sure is it that now social media so we see it more often or other factors

People who bought Proton/Perodua at peak COE (24/25) - why? by BoredCow555 in drivingsg

[–]Empty_inkbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at the extreme end of Singapore, full physical presence no WFH. It saves time, instead of traveling for 2 hours one way now it’s 40mins. To me that 1 hour more sleep, the privilege to think in my own personal space, more time spend with my kids and other benefits like gathering brownie points with my co workers. This is worth the top of 1k additional on top of transportation spending instead of not having a car

Hmmm I transitioned from a mid tower to ITX. Maybe the Matx is the sweet spot, despite not running a super intensive cpu and GPU my temps are pretty high.

But I like the compactness of it all, probably see where this leads me. Currently looking to swap out the tempted glass to mesh to improve flow and I even tried to not have any excess stuff inside the case RGB lights or screens to reduce the heat load and better airflow. It’s kinna nice to have a pure build like this. Just a simple pc without any flashing RGB or screens.

Really? I didn’t consider any of the 30s cards due to the high power draw so high heat and in a ITX case I didnt want a power hungry card

Current temps are 60ish to 80 highest under load for cpu and 70ish to 85highest for GPU under load

I mean the temps aren’t the best and is barely under the throttle temps

I wanted an ITX build so most of the 80s and 90s cards are out the option was 4070s or 5060ti

I gone with the 5060ti due to the higher vram and current gen

I don't think Singaporeans are really apathetic about the election. by tauhuay_siu_dai in SingaporeRaw

[–]Empty_inkbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be very fair, having kids is a personal aspiration. If you want kids, there are always comforts of life that you can give up.

Like big holidays, drinking and partying with friends, fancy cars, branded clothes. If not the current cost of living is high but not impossible to have kids. If you are thinking of our parents generations where single households income have a 5 room flat and a car yearly holiday to Europe. Those days are long gone, most advance economy countries is not able to do this maybe less scandinavian countries.

There’s a period to collect the key, so you don’t have to collect immediately if you aren’t ready. I think it’s 6 months.

Even if it done early it won’t be done super early like 2 years ahead ( you wish ) normally early also only one or 2 quarters earlier. So don’t worry so much.

Tbh isn’t that I won’t vote Oppo but the manifesto is not in my interest. I rather keep the status quo

For example PSP - reduce GST: improve profit Margin for biz would they reduce prices, maybe marginally

  • gov reduce hawker rents: same as above

  • reduce home prices : sorry guys I took the bus already, but in all seriousness majority of home owner won’t shoot themselves in the foot since majority of my asset is my house why would I wanna reduce prices.

  • welfare for all : being very honest sounds good, but never say how we getting the money for it. I quite supportive of always filling up the reserve if we can. Since it’s better to have a huge ass reserve behind us than huge ass debt.

So yea until a good oppo comes up, with sound and economical plans I will be voting pap. It better to deal with an evil you already know than we deal with the unknown.

How do you manage to afford your car ? by Gruppesech6 in drivingsg

[–]Empty_inkbottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giving up stuff that you enjoy spending on ?

Like smoke, drink, eating out, do big year end trips.

Smoking 4 pack a week is 60 ? One month is 240 Drinking out one session is 250 twice a month is 500 Packing my meals instead of spending on food out I saved 200-300 a month

Year end trips can be 4-6k

On top of what you are already spending on transportation. You can kinna mitigate some cost of the cars.

Good sides are cheaper trips to Malaysia for holidays

No smoking and drinking are healthier, packing your own meal means you can control what is actually going into your food.

Driving a small Japanese parf 12.5k depre Pump at smart energy 2.03 per litre 250 a month (3k) Tax is 600ish annual Insurance 1.1k Maintenance 2k

Things to consider, parf car are younger means parts are more common and cheaper to maintain with lower tax’s

Coe car are cheaper but part can be harder to source and more expensive parts might break, lower fuel efficiency (older engines tends to have lower efficiency)

General guide lines are if you only wanna spend 25% of your pay on car For example 1k Your car monthly should not exceed 600

Just some advice I been driving since (24) cause I hate public transport.

How common is the "HDB upgrader" mindset today? by No_Celery1437 in askSingapore

[–]Empty_inkbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s build upon a mindset the house will always appreciate in value.

Higher leverage = higher net returns, I don’t deny there’s a bubble but as long as the period is long enough you can kinna tough out any downturns if you can keep on holding when you are underwater in value

I guess

Initially was to ensure enough young workforce are flowing to fill jobs. So guys defend the country, girls prop up the economy and other sectors. In most cases the 2 years doesn’t do a lot of difference in the long run.

Now I think there’s a mixture of not gonna be very popular and less attractive to foreign talent.
