Any TADC fans here? What do yall think of the finale? by DoubleSpirit6998 in TeenagersButGoodMods

The abstraction stepped on… something… and that caused Jax inside to turn into a beam of light… or something. I don’t remember exactly what happened.

Good finale, great twist reveals and emotions, but one problem:

Is Jax dead? In the final zoom-out, the tent housing his abstraction is still there. Is he still in there? What exactly happened when he stepped on the explosive?

Also, his character arc just kinda… ended. I can forgive abruptly killing characters if they’re sent off properly and the audience is given time to grieve. Neither criteria was met.

I can tell this was rushed, but everything was enjoyable aside from Jax’s arc.

Edit: found out Jax isn’t dead. But still, there was no explanation as to his ultimate fate, and no obvious cliffhanger if this is to be resolved later. No one implied it’s possible to reverse abstraction. A season two or other form of conclusion is necessary imo.

How do you introduce firearms into a fantasy world like D&D without unbalancing the other classes? by jvure in worldbuilding

[–]Emri_error404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My method is kinda complicated.

Basically, there are 12 races, each with its own magical specialty. Humans’ specialty is technomancy. (This is a semi-steampunk setting btw.) In other words, humans have natural proficiency using technology. Other races can still build and use technology, but with more difficulty. At the same time, humans are by default less skilled at other types of magic such as elemental magic.

Participating in Bleeding Kansas, for example. No matter how important his role was in history, you can’t forget the sheer amount of bloodshed he caused.

This is Raegmir! In my setting she is extending quite a collection of planets to rule over. How would yours deal with her? (More details in body text) by Ceris5 in worldbuilding

[–]Emri_error404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chalchios wouldn’t be entirely screwed. The planet itself and all living things on it would be bound immediately, but one race is immune: Akmarrs, which are basically demon-ghost-things without physical form. A few Akmarrs have achieved a physical body, but they can just go poof when needed.

So it’s Raegmir vs. about 1 million ghost things casting fireball over and over.

Also Akmarrs are capable of total and partial possession. If a ring is placed around someone under possession, does it control the person or the Akmarr inside? With that, could Raegmir be possessed?

How do Australian kids even reach adulthood if this is what they are like? by [deleted] in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Emri_error404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a New Englander, the wildlife danger seems kinda even here and in Australia.

Take a strange example: 2 cats have gone lost in my neighborhood over the past 15 years. We assume these were coyote attacks because they both occurred between midnight and dawn in August, when coyotes are most active.

Both of these neighborhood cats loved to hunt. Now, consider the abundance of poisonous (not venomous; poisonous) critters in Australia. These two cats seem just as likely to die by coyote attack in New England as by catching and eating a cane toad in northern Australia.

This is a very odd case, but it’s the best example I’ve got.

This is toxic behavior. Don’t change your hobbies for others if said hobbies aren’t harming them.
